    Question Just wondering

I was just wondering if it's normal to feel lower abdominal pressure in pregnancy (I'm 20 weeks). It's not the same kind of pressure as before a period, but I don't quite know how to explain it. I usually can't feel it as much in the morning, but as the day goes on I feel the pressure more and more. I'm not in any pain at all, or discomfort, I was just wondering if this is normal?

It might be braxton hicks? They are practice contractions & usually just feel like tightenings.
They arent painful & don't last very long. A few seconds at a time.

    hi there!

thought i'd respond as i think that what you may be experiencing is just the weight of bubs! i too would get achey as the day wore on...as gravity took it's toll on my bump!

although, if the pain is really uncomfortable or you are feeling a bit worried about it, then dont hesitate in calling your hospital or other care provider.

    Take care,

Hi Sterla I also think you may be feeling the pressure of bubs. I am getting that feeling as well since last week (week 15) about once, sometimes twice a day. When it happens now - usually when I'm lying down - the spot goes really firm/tight and my tummy raises a little and then it goes down again. It's exactly as you've described, pressure, but not painful in my lower tummy. I'm convinced it's bubs and my DP has even felt it.

Congrats on your pregnancy as well!

Thanks - I kind of thought that might just be the weight of the baby, but as this is my first pregnancy I'm pretty unsure as to what is normal. Glad it's normal ! Thanks.

Yep it is just the uterus and baby weighing down on your pelvis. In the coming months it'll just get worse lol. At the end i usually feel like the baby is going to fall out onto the floor.
