    Kick counting - movements

    Hi All,

I spoke to my Dr last week about kick counting and movements and she said not to worry about kick counting, as long as I am feeling a min of 10 movements in 12 hours its all good.

I have an anterior placenta and a bit of old extra padding! Sometimes I can put my hand on my tummy and feel a movement but its not forceful enough to feel without my hand on my tummy. I am assuming this still counts as 1 movement???

    TIA

Yes, count it as a movement
Even if your doctor says not to, you can still do a kick chart if you've like - I was told to do one, and I didn't, and I wonder all the time whether that could have helped...

AUGGHHH Sorry I've done it again, I didn't mean to make it about me, I didn't mean to imply anything bad would happen if you didn't, just that I wish I had myself

Yeah, I count those big swirls too, like the ones that aren't kicks as such - but you know baby is moving about in there, kind of like a pressure feeling for a few seconds.

Over the last few weeks i find this really hard to measure or count as the feeling has changed so much. when i was having kicks i knew they were kicks, now its more swishes and i find them harder to feel and measure/count.

almost like butterflys now, and i got kicks earlier on?
My ob also says 10 a day, but all the books you read say 10 in an hour! so confusing

    You should count all movements.

10 movements a day is OK. There would be many times where you would have far less than 10 in an hour
