leg cramps! want to know what is going on lol.

yesterday arvo i started getting a dull ache in my lower calf thought nothing of it, but now the next day its worse! not to mention driving me crazy. cant keep my leg still as it just hurts, i've had it before but just rode it out. their is no swelling or nothing just pain inside my calf or lower half of my leg, can anyone explain what it may be, and what may help, dh finds it a tad funny (so do i) that i have to walk about and jiggle my leg alot lol.

I had something similar - I think its called Restless Leg Syndrome? What I do to get rid of it is just to stretch my foot backwards towards me and do some gentle walking and stretching of the calves before I go to bed. What ever you do, don't point your toes when you stretch as this can hurt like hell!

Apparently taking an extra dose of Magnesium helps to control the cramping as well.

    Good luck with it!

My Dr also said that wearing long socks/always keeping your legs warm helps...which it did for me. Bit of a pain in summer though. I wore a pair of wooly thigh high socks!

I second the magnesium tablet suggestion, I took one every morning and my cramping became little to none for the rest of my pregnancy.

thanks everyone! well i was pointing my toes so i've stopped that and put on warm socks and had a sit down on the couch, has eased up alot now, i did notice it was alot worse cause of pointing my toes (i feel silly now lmao!)
i did have it with my other 2 pregnancys but it was always a dull ache and was gone by morning, i just thought it was just a cramp.
i love socks specially fluffy wooly ones so now i have an excuse lol

The midwives will ask you about this (they asked me every freakin visit) - it could be blood clot not a cramp. Just giving you something to be paranoid about ...
