Ok. So I know that when you have leftovers (like chicken) it needs to be heated up hot before you can eat it. And, I know that pre-packaged salads are a no-no. But what about home-made salads (potato salad, tabouli, green salads, etc). Can theyv be eaten cold as leftovers?
Yes, they are OK as long as you know they have been stored correctly and not left out on the bench before refrigerating them. The reason behind the pre-packaged salads being a no-no is because you never can be sure that Woollies/Coles etc have stored them correctly before you purchased them.
Ezz I ate (and eat) leftovers that weren't heated (like chicken) if I had cooked it and stored it properly myself. As Tonydayl says the main issue is with bought food where you can't be sure of its storage/age/etc. In fact you could make your own nori rolls (minus the raw fish) if you liked, even though I wouldn't eat nori rolls from a shop when pg....
