    Liver/Lambs fry & excess vitamin a levels?

I have just been reading on another website about no-no foods in pregnancy (being that i just replied to the kebab thread ), and one person says: "Liver - liver is a rich source of iron. However it contains a high level of Vitamin A. Large amounts of Vitamin A can be harmful to the baby."
Does anyone know how much liver this would be? Or is this right?
This is another food that I rather feel like, thats all.

    Hi Netix
Yes liver does contain very high amounts of vitamin A and is not reccomended in pregnancy. Even a normal serving of liver will probably contain far too much vitamin A. I would advise you to give it a miss

Thank you Alan. You are a wealth of knowledge! I am glad that I came across this other article, as I was going to eat lambs fry tomorrow! Now, it can be added to the list of things that have to wait.
