    Loss of appetite while preg-anyone?

I am not sure if this is the right spot so feel free to move it.
I am 31wks pregnant, and the whole pregnancy I have had very little appetite. I read online and in preg books about the importance of eating certain foods but to be honest I am eating about 1/4 of what I was before pregnant. Baby is fine and right size/weight etc, I had very little in the way of morning sickness and have had a very smooth and trouble free pregnancy, but the majority of the time the thought of steak or fish and vegies (especially greens) makes me queasy and I have trouble eating certain things so to speak. I am not starving myself and I am eating, but not as much as 'the books' say I should be. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep, I lose my appetite while pregnant. Although it is out of control when I'm not pregnant so I'm overweight to start with.

I put on 3kg last pregnancy and baby and I were both fine.

If you are concerned you should talk to your doctor/midwife, but it wasn't a problem for me.

    Hi Mitzy

Except for the odd few-days-here-and-there when I'm ravenous, my appetite has been equal to or less than pre-preg. I've had no nausea food aversions but I do feel like eating naughtier food more often so I do get concerned that I'm not getting enough nutrients. Thank goodness for the prenatal multivitamins.

I was at the lower end of the healthy weight range before pregnancy. At 27 weeks I've put on 7kg (all of this during the 2nd trimester), I'm actually surprised it's been that much, certainly it's all baby related as if anything I feel like my arms and legs are thinner than they were.

Anyway the OB is happy, the blood test results are all good, so I'm trying not to worry, and just sneak in healthy extras when I can (eg buy a fresh vegie juice at lunch time).

I never had it as an issue with my first 3 pg's but with my last one I had no appetite at all and that was unusual for me because usually being pg makes me super hungry. I think I only had a few weeks of the 3rd trimester where I felt hungry and then in the last few weeks I went back to no appetite again. It didn't affect his size at all - he was just over 10lb and 59cm long LOL.

I have lost my appetite for all the sensible things I should be eating...
I prefer to pick at dinner (unless it is chocolate cake) than eat a huge meal.
I too have put on the "right" amount of weight and my middies are happy

    hi mitzy....

this is my first pregnancy and so far i have lost 5kgs since 8 weeks......

ive had morning sickness since 5/12 weeks and it settled at 10 1/2 weeks but i then has some bleeding issues and got out on progestrone which ramped it right up again.....

but the MS is only in the morning and not all day......

but in general i have no appetite whatsoever.......
like most of the other postrs i eat nothing compared to what i used to eat......
and can stomach vegies like i used to be able to, so i just do my best and eat what i can.....
