dont stress too much.. i have gone through a good 1-2 litres a day being pregnant. Im an addict i know.. but hey there are worse things to be addicted to. I have tried to cut back and on a good day i will only have a glass but on a bad day i can down a 2ltr to myself!
Hmmm I hadn't thought of dry ginger ale. Lemonade is a bit too sweet tasting. I know that coke has heaps of sugar but all the other chemicals sort of take away the sweet taste, LOL. So that's why no other drinks seem to cut the crook feeling for me. But I hadn't thought of dry ginger, so I might give that a go...
But I don't think it's going to stop me falling asleep at my desk - hence my question about the caffeine. At work they don't know I'm pregnant yet. Perhaps I will have to tell them so I can have a sleep at lunch.
Amy if it is the sweet taste you want and don't want the sugar, what about soda/mineral water with low joule cordial? I was drinking at least a litre of soda water a day when pg with Liam, sometime I had it with cordial or juice mixed into it, but mostly plain. I just loved the fizzyness of it and it helped with my quesiness and later on, heartburn. But really I wouldn't be worried about one small bottle of coke a day.
Kel, I've never much liked the taste of soda water... Golly, I'm a fusspot! But could probably go it with a bit of cordial. I might try the ginger first cause I know ginger is supposed to be good for motion sickness etc.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi Snacks. Maybe it's the sugar hit and fluid from the coke that is settling your tummy. Icy cold red cordial was always good for me or a frozen slurpie. But like Feeb said - Everything in moderation so don't be worrying too much. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Hey,
I'm very much the same. I've been craving coke like mad and I figure there are far worse things I could be having. I may have a couple of cans a day, sometimes more. I've tried alternatives but everything else just doesn't sit well on my stomach (even ginger beer/ale, lemonade, soda water). I'm going with the "everything in moderation" line. Plus a midwife I had when I was pg with Lilah said she craved and lived on coke and mars bars throughout all of her pregnancies and all of her kids are fine. People will love to tell you what you "can't" or "shouldn't" do, but like heaps of people have said- moderation is the key.
