Massive kudos for my OB and a midwife!

I rang my Ob's surgery today and tried to get an appointment because I hadn't been able to. Receptionist tells me I can't get in until Jan 31. I was really worried because I knew that'd most likely be the time I need all my scans and such and ultrasound place is hard to get into so I called the maternity ward just to see if they could check bub's heart beat and my BP. I was also worried because I wasn't exactly sure of the EDD because (as I suspected) I skipped an AF and ovulated. I explained situation to the lovely midwife that answered the phone and she calls my OB to explain it to her. She rings me back 5 minutes later and says "Dr ***** has rescheduled an appointment and will fit you in in 30 minutes!"

I just wanted to share that because I am still quite stoked on how seriously my OB and the midwife I spoke to take their jobs! I hear of so many bad experiences and I wanted to let people know that there are still good OB's and Midwives out there.

I am so keeping her Alan! That OB handled my previous pregnancy with DD really well and sent me for additional tests when I was measuring small. When she went on leave she made sure prior to going she booked me into 3 day checks with the midwife personally from her office and made sure I had ways to get there at the available times. When I was in hossie post labour with DD she came in while on leave just to check my BP was going down and to check DD's progress. The midwife that handled the call today I remember quite well and she was always very helpful and gave me options to try with DD rather then saying "just do it this way" like a few others were. I just feel with so many people having horror experiences with OBs and some midwives that they need to know that there are good ones out there!
