    Maternity Pad Allergy?

    Hi
For as long as I have had AF I haven't been able to use sanitary pads. I try them for a few days and then get a horrendous rash that takes days to go away. Nothing I do prevents it, not even if I change them constantly and use hypoallergenic ones...

So I'm a bit worried how the heck I'm going to cope with maternity pads, does anyone have any suggestions? I know you can't use tampons but is there any other alternative?

Thats a really hard one. Are there any hypoallergenic pads on the market. Maybe you can cover the pad with some kind of gauze?? Wow, i dont know, but I'm sure someone will be able to help you!

I know you can buy washable pads I myself have never used them so I cant say what they are like but maybe they would be ok cause they would not have the addatives and the chemical processing that a regular sanitary pad would have so might be worth a try, otherwise have you tried the brand Cottons they are quite good and dont have as much in them as the other brands

    Thanks ladies,

Yeah I tried the Cotton brand and I don't tend to get the reaction as quickly but I still get it within 5 days. The Cotton brand only have a cotton coversheet and I think I must be allergic to what is inside the actual pad...
