Just after I had DS one of the MW had her bag stolen from under the counter at the nurses station in the delivery ward. How pathetic is that? Being in the delivery ward, it was more than likely the father of a baby she had just delivered!

When DH was in emergency a couple of times early last year he caught an old lady going though peoples possessions. A number of the patients were too out of it to notice. There was so much coming and going it was hard to pick up what she was doing. From the sounds of it she just came in off the street, how she got in they don't know.

It is a good reminder of how low some people will stoop. Instead of being congratulated on a job well done we have to watch who comes into our rooms. Hope they catch them soon.

I've always been warned when I had all my babies too.

What concerns me more is the EASE in which these bank accounts were raided. Its appalling.

Our hossy tells you not to bring in any valuables, and they only let people in the maternity ward during visiting hours 2-4 & 6-8, the rest of the time outsiders cant get into that ward. They have also warned us during visiting hours not to leave any valuables we might have bought in unattended.

If I need anything DF can hang on to it & if I need it in the middle of the night, too bad I'll just have to wait.

Its horrible that that sort of thing happens to new mums, it just devastating

Oh my god, yet another reason to stick to homebirth!

I thought this was going to be about people kidnapping newborns, which is incredibly rare, not this!

I remember when mum died we didn't put a notice in the paper for the funeral because there were theives robbing houses when people were out at the crematorium
