    Question Metwhurst/Salami

    Hi Lovelies,

I have a massive craving for metwhurst (AKA Salami to some). I've been ignoring this craving sine I got pregnant but I don't think I can ignore it any more!!! My question is this. At 24+ weeks, is it ok to eat it?

    Thanks

    MG

I'd say not, listeria is a risk throughout all stages of pregnancy. Maybe add it to a list of foods you get family or DH to bring in shortly after birth

Tee hee Cailin - already done that! All the family is in SA and the "fee" for comming to visit is my fav brand from over there (which I can't get here)! Grandma has promised 3 sticks which should keep me going for a while!

I've eaten it a few times on pizza since I was told deli meats were ok if cooked until steaming. However, salami could be different because it's cured not precooked.

    Hiya MG!
I've been having it on homemade pizzas. I just make sure it's SUPER COOKED and SUPER HOT. Then I can still enjoy the flavour.
