I am 18 weeks today with our second baby and I havent felt any movements yet....
I'm getting a bit anxious as everything I am reading says that being my second I should be feeling the baby a little earlier this time around.....I didnt feel DS until around 20 weeks....maybe I am just a late starter in this??
I am a larger girl I was wondering if this maybe has something to do with it?? More 'cushioning' that the baby has to get through for me to feel it move???
Has anyone else not felt movement early in their second pregnancy??
I am sure you will be fine - I have heard of women not feeling second bubs for a while too and being all ok. If you get really worried just go to your Dr or hospt and ask for a doppler to hear the heartbeat or an ultrasound to see bubs moving around. I expect you will be having the morphology ultrasound in the next week or two anyway.
It can depend on where your placenta is located too. If your placenta is at the front (anterior) then it will make it harder to feel your bub's movements at this stage in pregnancy.
Still not feeling anything so hopefully all is OK....I tried to get into my GP for an appt this week but she was fully booked so I took that as a sign that what's meant to be is meant to be!!
I still lie in bed at night concentrating as hard as I can...silly isnt it??
Next scan is due next Friday and I have a busy week ahead at work so hopefully that will keep my mind off things....my belly is definitely getting bigger...hopefully it's not all the eating for 2!!!
Hi JDsMum...this is my 4th bub & I didn't feel anything definite until 20-21 weeks - and my placenta isn't anterior or anything as far as I know - that's just how it was for me.
Don't stress, I'm sure in a week or so you'll be feeling plenty!
(then if you're like me you'll stress every morning until you feel them move lol - but that's me, I'm a hopeless worrier
