    Need advice on Zantac please!

Hi Ladies I need your urgent help.

My first pg I suffered reflux the whole way through, everyday till I gave birth & I thought it couldn't be any worse than that but now I am
pg with 2nd child & the reflux started when I was 5.5wks pg & I'm now 24wks & it is soooooooooo much worse this time.

The thing is none of the over the counter stuff works & I'm just not sure how much more of this I can take.

My dr said I can have Zantac but they have never done studies pg women so they 'think' it's ok, now for me that's not really good enough.

I have been through ivf to have this little one (& a angel baby last year) so I am so quite worried about doing anything that might hurt the bubba.

If anyone has been on Zantac I need to hear from you please, did it cause any problems with bub? Did it really help the problem? etc.

    Thank you so much, Jo

Have you spoken with your local pharmacist? I find i get more precise information from him than the Doctor.

I wasn't on zantac during pregnancy but my DD was taking it from about 4 weeks after birth and it was perfectly safe. I understand how you feel though. My dd was an IVF bub as well and I was super careful during pregnancy. I had reflux at the end as well so I know how awful it is. I hope you get some relief soon.

    Hello,

I took Zantac with my last pregnancy as I had terrible reflux. My ob told me it was completely safe and said I could safely take 3 tablets at once which I think from memory is 3 times what the packet says. I took 1 tablet of a morning and 2 of a night (and slept with bulk pillows!) It didn't take it away completely but it helped. I'm praying that I don't have that trouble again this time!
