I fully plan on saying no to an early induction, just trying to get my plan sorted before going in there.
Ali- that's true, if I go by their dates means I would have o'd 2 days before I got AF.
I don't htink I'll have any trouble with support from my midwife, more the hospital appointed OB.
We'll see though I may be pleasently surprised, but need to be prepared...

Something as clear cut as a condom breaking would have to suggest that you know your date of conception regardless??? Surely?
I'd definitely be explaining that you'd trust your dates over a late ultrasound.
And if they pull out the 'you are placing your baby in danger' attitude, say you'll be monitored daily to make sure baby/fluid levels are ok but you'll not be induced.
Perhaps try to find some articles from respected sources that show how being induced can increase the chance of further intervention, etc, and therefore more chance of bub needing assistance as well? You can use that argument to refute the 'you are putting your baby in danger' line if it happens to be pulled out. I think there are some summaries in New Active Birth that I can look up for you if you like. Or there may be some references on articles on this site - I haven't looked around recently.
But hopefully you WILL be pleasantly surprised and your OB will be a darling and bow out, admitting that you are just fine and don't need to even think of induction at this early stage.
When I told my midwife I was induced at 10 days past my EDD, she said "oh, that was early. why didnt they wait until you were full term at 42 weeks?"
She said that there is no greater risk in going to 42 weeks than having the baby at 38. She said this was well documented so there should be some information out there.
They should be able to monitor placenta function as well, with an u/s.
Maybe you can compromise along the lines of you will go by their dates as long as you can get to 42 weeks before discussing induction, that should put you somewhere in the middle.
Are you happy to be monitored for placenta function if they determine you're post dates - if you are then ask for that.

I am happy to be monitored as much as they like, will put my mind to rest as well that all is okay in there!
Definately not going to allow anything until 42 weeks which will be the 15th, hopefully I will have popped by then and there is no need to worry.
Just have to go with the flow I guess and not let them talk me into anything I don't want to do.
