New DR, Maybe I am having a baby

Wasn't to sure where to write this post, so please move it if its in the wrong section !!

I was just wanting your advice from I guess all you mums. A bit of background and my story.

I was on the pill since I was 16, then got off it hmm maybe when I was 24. When I got married. My period pain since then (now 30) have been unbearable. I get really bad pain in my stomach, that bad that I cant move and sometimes vomit and migraines some months when I start bleeding. My periods can vary. Starting from day 30 - 43

On 23rd December, my dh and I had a bit of a accident. Well not accident but we weren't planning as yet but would have been happy either way. IYKWIM. January on wards, I have suffered no pain when I bleed. In fact I dont know I have them until I go to the toilet. They can be light, or very heavy. (Usually, last year etc I would say I would have light periods) I went to the Dr and he sent me for a hormone blood test and he said the results come back ok. I have an under active thyroid. He said, my periods most likely are because of the thyroid.

Then I went to a new dr, the other day, and she asked when I was due for a pap smear. I told her I had really sore boobs and she asked if i was pregnant, and so I told her about my last dr visit, and the fact I was still bleeding monthly but my usual dr said, thats not possible. I told my usual dr that it runs in my family, and he was very firm and said, I must have gotten the information wrong. SO of course, Him being a DR I thought I was wrong. So this new dr told me, its possible and I would prob be to far to do a home pregnant test and I would need to have a pelvic ultra sound. She said, its possible I could be.

Now I dont want to sound stupid, but I have kept a mental note, with hubbys help of things that have changed.

From December, I have had some things happening. And because he said everything was ok with my hormones I didnt think to write anything down. But from January I have had the following happen

    - No pains when I bleed
    - I think it was Jan or Feb I had spots of blood on my undies
    - Eating vegies, which I cant stand
    - I will eat popcorn (a whole bag) every single night. I would even go down to the shop just to get it. I never eat that, but the craving for that stopped maybe 3 weeks ago
    - Tiredness (Could have been thyroid)
    - dizziness especially in the afternoon early night
    - Maybe jan/feb I had a lot of clear like mucus from my vagina, which I dont normally have
-The past 2 weeks or so I have been getting maybe like shooting pains all around my boobs
    - Last month was getting like a flutter in my tummy
    - I was getting a little pain right down the bottom of my stomach, on both sides but at different times
    - I vomited a few times
    - And my normal dr put me on tyroid meds and said I would lose weight, but I havnt lost any. Infact I kinda do look pregnant, but I have always been a bigger girl so not sure about that...

I hope this all makes sense..

So my question to you after all that ahhhaha, is..
    1. does it sound like I am pregnant to you
    and
    2. What happens in a pelvic ultrasound. I know when I am preg I have to bare all but for now I am a very shy person...

Yes I did, yesterday and it came back negative. But she said, its prob to late for it to come up with a positive result. And the only way to work it out is with a pelivc exam because ummm certain levels would be to low or high, to come up on a reading sorry cant remember

For a pelvic ultrasound they will just put some gel on your tummy and rub the probe thing over your tummy. It is not invasive at all and you will not have to show anything more than a bit of tummy.

Sounds to me that you are not pregnant. You will alway have a level of pg hormone in your system when pregnant that will be picked up by a HPT, it can never be too late to pick up the hormone. That coupled with your monthly bleed tells me that you aren't pregnant.

Oh really, thanks. I was worried I would have to bare all. Like I said, if I am preg, well thats ok but for now I would rather not ahahaha

Yes I have heard some women can rave regular bleeds during pregnancy, if that were coupled with a positive HPT then I wouldn't doubt you were pregnant. I'm sorry, I just really don't think you are pregnant. Good luck...

    Hi Izabella
I do not understand why your doctor did not just do a simple blood test which would tell you if you are pregnant. A HPT will come up positive if you are pregnant. It is a little unusual but yes you can have regular monthly bleeds when you are pregnant. These bleeds are usually not the same as your usually monthly cycle bleeds. Like others I also do not think that you are pregnant but I suggest that you go back to your doctor and ask for a blood test. This will help to ease your mind.

Thanks for that Alan. I have some things medically wrong with me, which could be any of those symptoms, and thats why I am freaking out because of my medications.

Hi guys, going to arrange a blood test for this week some time so my head can relax. Normally I would be so excited if I am but I am so worried coz of the medications and I cant stop thinking about it. Plus my nipples are soooo sore..
And then, if I'm not I can talk to the Dr about all my medications and take it from there..
