Entire stomach tight for longer then 30 minutes

I never had braxton hicks with DD so had no clue until someone said that tightening in the stomach is the braxton hicks.

I just woke up from a nap and my entire stomach is tight as. I have been eating ice as usually it goes away after that but to no avail.... It is still there. I have also been to the toilet three times in the last 30 minutes!

I have no pressure whatsoever downstairs.. Never have yet but bubs has dropped, my ob has told me. I can feel him/her kick as well, just to add in some pressure at the top of my tummy.

It is uncomfortable and annoying and has not let up. However whenever I have done my research it says bh come and go. This is continuous.

Could I be having a growth spurt or something or would it still be bh?
Any advice would be good. Thanks.

I never had BH with my first either, and I expected BH to hurt, but as with you, I would sort of get a vague 'I think my tummy is tighter than usual' feeling, and I couldn't notice a start or finish to that really. I'm not sure how long it lasted for.

It has just stopped! I explained to dh that it is similar to wanting someone to cut your tummy so the pressure can be let out. But only the top unlike everything I am reading on bh. : (

Usually I don't notice the time but I have already gone through a whole glass of ice, which is why I am probably noticing the length of time. So uncomfortable but would more like to know what the heck it is over anything. : (

You could call the hospital and see what a midwife reckons? But from what I've heard, contractions start from the top and push down, so it could be some sort of BH. Hopefully others will pop in with their experiences, but given how we all experience labour differently, I'd not be surprised at there being a bit of variety in how we experience BH's too. xo

Oh as much as I have been joking lately that I want this baby now. I can wait.. *I am having a planned caesar and need my ob there. Thanks Nelle, I was more curious then anything and really hoping it will just go... : ) Did you hear that Universe? Lol. xx

I had a similar very long BH with my twins a few hours before going into labour. It was caused by twin II turning from breech to head down, it would be interesting to see if your baby has dramatically changed position now.

Wow. Bubs has moved like mad in the last 45 minutes too. Thought it might of been the ice.. maybe not. : )

If it happens again I would call the hospital and see what they say. The reason I say that is when I was in labour I was having tonic contractions lasting for more than 10 mins. It made DS distressed and his heart rate dropped. I almost had a c/section because of the danger to DS. I am totally not an expert inthings like this but it might be better to ask than to not.
