About 3/4 weeks ago I had a near fainting spell where I got hot and dizzy and had to sit down. Went to docs and everything was fine and I felt better about 2 hours later. This morning I felt really breathless, dizzy and like I couldn't quite focus properly. I also had tingling in my hands and arms so I went to my ob. He said after checking me over that it was most likely anxiety or panic attacks.
I can understand how those feelings would come from that but HONESTLY - I am not anxious! I really can't think of anything that I am worried about and life is great. This mornign I was doing my usual stuff - breakfast, getting DD ready to go out etc..
He said to try some calcium tablets just in case I was lackig but TBH I really drink quite a lot of milk (and eat icecream!!). Anyone else had this happen?
Blood pressure was fine in both cases. I actually feel good now 0- just annoyed and upset that people (ob and nurse) think I might be anxious when I am truly not!! He said if it doesn't improve I can talk to someone but i don't know what about! I really like my ob but I felt so dumb this morning. Anyway better now - just wanted to see if anyone else gets this way!
The exact same thing happened to a friend last year. Her OB put it down to the baby moving and putting pressure in an odd position which made her feel dizzy/nauseous. Maybe it was something like that?
I had this with both dd, both times Id had a shower and it was too hot and I almost passed out, but Im prone to fainting and just brushed it off and stopped having super hot showers.
Def not blood-sugar. I had eaten cereal and juice for breaky and then half and hour after that had some toast and ice-coffee so I was sufficeintly full up! Thanks for your replies ladies - just one of those annoying things. I don't want them to think I am under pressure or anything though.
i had similar symptoms with DS and it was because of low blood pressure. but everytime i felt that way and went to the doctor or hospital it would actually make my blood pressure rise and they could never detect anything.
i just learnt a few ways to deal with the symptoms.
hope you feel better
I have panic and anxiety attacks when I am not pg (maybe twice a year) but I have had them in increasing incidents since I got pg this time. I have an anxiety disorder. The thing is I have no reason to be stressed and I can rationalise anything that I am stressing about out in my head but I am still having panic attacks - they are almost uncontrollable this pg. I have had always been a bit more anxious with each pg, but this one has been the worst. I think it is to do with hormones increasing and therefore the incident of panic attack being more frequent. Mine are so bad now that even though I would like to have a fourth baby, both DH and I agree that emotionally, I probably can't handle it and it is not good for our family.
Anyway, sorry that has all been about me but hopefully that helps in some way. I don't really have any answers. I just have management techniques which are not working so well this pg. My panic attacks generally aren't really related to physical condition in my body like bp (except sometime they cause my bp to be a bit low afterwards).
The only other thing I would suggest you have checked is your iron. When my panic attacks worsened in my pg with DS it was due to having low iron and the symptoms of dizziness and blurry vision were due to lack of iron.
I hope that things improve for you, it's not much fun.
i get this a fair bit and im not pregnant. Ive been told its because i have an inner ear Inbalance. Try googling it and see if it fits what your feeling.
i had symptoms like this and it turned out to be anxiety. i wasn't anxious either, but our bodies do wierd things when we're pregnant, and i know that for me, my body's response was to get anxious. very strange.. but i wouldn't discount what your doctor's saying if it were me.
