I'm currently 30weeks and 6 days pregnant and already had a scare with prem labour.
Over the last week or so I've been getting what I'd call period pain.
No cramps or anything. Just the constant aching and then bouts of more severe pain.
Also had quite a few "stabby" pains in my vagina.
I've been getting these period like pains for the past few weeks, a few times a day and more recently I've been getting the sharp pains, feels like they are in my cervix, I wasw told they were BH and the sharp pains i'm assuming is bubs head engaging. Go and get checked by your doc if your worried and also considering your history.
My doctor is an hour away, but my midwife is just around the corner. She can probably check me out if I need her to, rather than travel over an hour.
I know that the pains aren't bub's head engaging because bub is in breech and has been forever.
If the pains get too bad tonight, and they seem to be getting more annoying, especially now that I'm getting pains in my vagina... I'll go see my midwife.
Otherwise I'll see her tomorrow.
I know, tho, that if I go see her that she'll most likely send me on to my doctor. And then I may have to go on to Melbourne (I have to have bub at the Royal Womens- 450km away) if he is concerned.
It could be that baby has moved from breech and the pains you are getting are from him/her adjusting to a new position. However as PP's have said any pain like this it is important to get checked out by a midwife.
i get sharp pains like period pain too right down low, im 32wks and 4 days today, ive been getting them for atleast the last 2wks my midwife seems to think its BH but OMG they HURT and i also get diareah (spelling?) this morning ive woken up and vomitted and been getting like a sharp/pressure/pushing pain in my vagina too (my bubs head is down and has been all along, so i wonder if its engaging), i had a midwife appointment earlier and she doesnt seem to worried but my BP is also going up, im scared too as it too early to have bubs
Im going to keep checking this as it will be interesting to see what your told about your pains
Just got back from the midwife. She told me that it sounds like early labour. I have to keep an eye out for any more pains and if I get any, call her straight away.
And she put me on complete bed rest. Grrr!!! A bit frustrating!!
31 weeks today, so I'd like bub to stay in for another month and of course I'd stay home all day and do minimal to make sure that bub is OK.
I don't really want him/her coming right now!!!
