Period-like pain in late pregnancy. ??

    Hey!!

I'm currently 30weeks and 6 days pregnant and already had a scare with prem labour.

Over the last week or so I've been getting what I'd call period pain.
No cramps or anything. Just the constant aching and then bouts of more severe pain.
Also had quite a few "stabby" pains in my vagina.

    Should I be worried?
    Anyone had pains like this??

    Thanks!!

I'd talk to your caregiver about it. It might be nothing to worry about, but if you've already had a scare it's probably best to be on the safe side.

I've been getting these period like pains for the past few weeks, a few times a day and more recently I've been getting the sharp pains, feels like they are in my cervix, I wasw told they were BH and the sharp pains i'm assuming is bubs head engaging. Go and get checked by your doc if your worried and also considering your history.

My doctor is an hour away, but my midwife is just around the corner. She can probably check me out if I need her to, rather than travel over an hour.
I know that the pains aren't bub's head engaging because bub is in breech and has been forever.

If the pains get too bad tonight, and they seem to be getting more annoying, especially now that I'm getting pains in my vagina... I'll go see my midwife.
    Otherwise I'll see her tomorrow.
I know, tho, that if I go see her that she'll most likely send me on to my doctor. And then I may have to go on to Melbourne (I have to have bub at the Royal Womens- 450km away) if he is concerned.

I'm a bit scared, to be honest.

It could be that baby has moved from breech and the pains you are getting are from him/her adjusting to a new position. However as PP's have said any pain like this it is important to get checked out by a midwife.

Yeah, I'll try and get on to her tonight.
And bub is still in breech. I can feel his/her head right near my belly button. Where it always is, lol.

I've just clicked who you are, I've been following your story about your baby's medical condition. Hopefully you can see the midwife soon and be reassured

    Hey

Just got back from the midwife. She told me that it sounds like early labour. I have to keep an eye out for any more pains and if I get any, call her straight away.

And she put me on complete bed rest. Grrr!!! A bit frustrating!!

Oh that is frustrating. I hope the bed rest works though and you keep that baby inside for a good few weeks longer

31 weeks today, so I'd like bub to stay in for another month and of course I'd stay home all day and do minimal to make sure that bub is OK.
I don't really want him/her coming right now!!!

Hope you can keep that bubby cooking for a while yet. Got some good books for your bed rest?

No... got the laptop, but I've been on that all day today and I'm bored by it.

Going to have to borrow some movies and books from family.

Now's the time to get into a TV series of old. Something you have always wanted to watch that is 5 or more series long. May I suggest Buffy The Vampire Slayer? Or 24, something like that.

Hmmm, got 5 series of Supernatural. But, my fiance would kill me if I watched that. We've been together since February and started watching them together then. We've only just made it into the second series. We're meant to be watching them together.

Got quite a few DVD's on 24. Never watched it before, so maybe I could get into that.

Grown up on MASH, and my folks have the entire series so I could always borrow that.

But, I'll probably just borrow L&O SVU from my sister. She's got quite a few series.

Wow. Could be another month of this. I don't want to sound depressed...but its depressing. Just sitting at home all day, not doing anything for a whole month!!!

haha, I'm sure I'll look back and think "that wasn't so bad".
    Life's a funny thing.
