Playing Netball Whilst Pregnant, Your Thoughts?

Not sure if this is the right forum...

But what do you all think about someone playing netball whilst pregnant? A girl in my netball team has just announced she is 12 weeks and plans to keep playing. Some members are furious and others are fine with the idea.

I personally don't have a problem with her playing but wonder how her opponent will feel. i.e. will she be more gentle and not as aggressive?

    Love to hear your thoughts.

I played netball until I was 12wks with my 3rd pg, but the comp ended then and I don't htink I would have continued to play becuase of the strain I was starting to feel physically etc. I have heard of women playing until the 16-18wk mark, but I felt more comfortable about it until 12wks knowing that the baby is still cushioned behind the pubic bone. whereas anything after that they are above and don't have that extra protection. I guess for the opponents it depends if they know or not and even if the league she is in will let her continue past a certain date due to insurance purposes.

I played netball until i was 9-10 weeks with both my girls pregnancies. I too have heard of women playing into their 3rd trimester.
If i was playing against a 6 month pregnant woman i would defn 'go a little easy' with her. I would feel awful if i bumped into her bump.....but then again, surely she would be aware of the risks??
