I had the exact same thing, at almost the exact same gestation.
Generally though brown (old) blood = "good", red (fresh) blood = concerning....
Sit tight, I am sure everything is just fine xox

Thanks for all your replies. I haven't had any more of it so far, was a long night! DH is working all weekend which doesn't help, everything seems worse when you're alone!

I didn't have cramps but felt quite heavy and achey overnight. Will be going to my doctor tomorrow just to get some more reassurance.

Thank you again for helping me through! Reading over everyones replies helped me stay calm.

Oh CM, I've only just seen this!
How scary for you! But rest assured that spotting is VERY common! I was spotting a few weeks ago and so far everything is fine. I know in these situations you're not supposed to google these things but I found google had ALOT of positive stories about spotting in pregnancy so I felt a bit better about that. Hopefully this was just a once off scare and everything is fine with your lil bubba xx

Thinking of you today CM. Hopefully your doctor can set your mind at ease. As hard as it is, try to keep your mind off it today. My psychologist told me that when I'm stressing to remind myself that the thoughts I have are not connected to whats actually happening in there- nothing I can think or not think can change whats going to happen. Not sure if that makes sense, but it helped me a lot.

Well I have a bit of an update. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound the Monday after all this started but I had to wait til all the public holidays were over. I had a little bit more brown mucus over the Christmas weekend but no cramping. Finally got my ultrasound yesterday when I should've been 7 weeks 3 days.

They did an abdominal ultrasound & only found a gestational sac measuring at 5 weeks 4 days. The sonographer said it looked good and had implanted well but I was crying saying I was sure of my dates. She told me not to worry & stranger things happen but I was still very upset yesterday.

Saw my GP again today. She said I may not be as far along as what I thought, especially seeing I've only had AF back a little while, it's possible I ovulated later, these things happen & next time all is well...but at the same time prepared me for the possibility of a missed miscarriage.

I still have some pregnancy symptoms so don't know what to think. I asked for HCG levels to be done, had one today, will have another tomorrow & the last on Tuesday. Besides that I'm booked in for another ultrasound in 2 more weeks. It's such a long time away but at least the HCG will give us an idea of what to expect in the meantime.

I feel like I'm in limbo - I thought I'd have an answer after 10 days of waiting & here I am still waiting. I want this baby so much

Oh Hun I'm sorry. That's not at all the news we were hoping for. Sending up lots of prayers that things are just being a bit weird but that your levels will be increasing steadily. The blood work usually comes back pretty quickly and that will give you a really good idea of what's happening.
I know there aren't words to make it any easier for you but know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

dahl, sorry you are going through this. And yes it must seem like a life time waiting for your next us to roll around.

When I mc'd I didn't have any notice at all it just happened. However with this pregnancy I had spotting/bloody mucus at 4-5 weeks, I freaked out big time & went to hossy & everythings progressed ok since then. It could be numerous things Implantation, bleeding where AF due etc.

As people have said apparently bleeds are very normal in pregnancies, it just seems that no one bothers to tell us that untill it actually happens hey.

sweet that its nothing & everything progresses ok for you.

sorry you are going through this stressful time. If you are in fact the gestation that the scan suggested, then the bleed you had would correlate with an implantation bleed. Hopefully the HCG testing will put your mind at ease.

Thanks girls. Have told no one IRL about any of this yet, keep waiting til I have something to tell. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow either way as the GP is going to ring me with my first 2 HCG levels.

I just don't know how I could be so much earlier, maybe a week but almost 2?
