From your ogininal post you sounded to me like you genuinely had some questions you were interested in having answered so I have no idea why people are questioning your motives TBH. I personally don't care why you what to know about getting back into shape ect. after pregnancy as they are reasonable questions to me. People can be quick to judge when really it should matter what your circumstances are.

And with regard to your comment about that fact that you CAN get back into shape after baby, no arguements here.

Sorry Dan - I was just a little confused as the questions seemed pretty random i.e. theme parks etc.

So can you tell us a little more about yourself, when you and your partner are due etc? Your previous posts indicate that the woman you are talking about is an athete (or similar) and this is where your questions stem from.

I guess a bit more information would help us understand.

Dan.. You certainly didn't offend, I just didn't know where you were coming from!!

Comments like "why are you lost?""do you need directions?" and "How does that make any sense" are defensive and not too polite thats all. If you were gay, you would very obviously need a surrogate mummy, so there is no need to be rude, thats all.

Jac... I hope you weren't refering to me being judgemental, because I certianly did not judge. He infered that the "maid" will decide whether to breastfeed or not, not the "mum", hence my confusion, thats all. Simply asking is NOT judging.

    To answer your questions Dan7

    1. How long should a woman rest for after giving birth before resuming activities such as sports, etc. she was involved in prior to falling pregnant?
That would depend on factors such as how difficult the birth was and how her individual recover goes. It is reccommended that 6 weeks is needed for the body to heal and not to do things too strenuous during that time. Me personally, I wouldn't consider too much strenuous but my cousins girlfriend played a full game of netball 4 weeks after her bub was born!

    2. How old does a baby need to be before it is safe to take him/her on a plane?
Don't know on that one. Perhaps the airline companies would be able to advise you there.

    3. Can you take a newborn baby into a theme park?
You can take a newborn baby almost anywhere. They are very portable in the early days and depending on how settled they are may only wake for a feed.

How long after giving birth should a woman wait before going back to her regular pre-pregnancy workout/fitness routine? Also, does anyone know how long it would take for a woman to get back into shape after having a baby?
Again I would say it depends on the type of delivery she had and how she is feeling. It took me 6 - 12 months to get back to my pre baby body.

No way! Getting back in top shape is achievable! Physical shape after having a baby CAN and WILL be the same as before if the work is put in. As for breastfeeding, that will be a decision the maid must make.
This is true but placing pressure on your partner is not a good idea. It will happen and for some it is easier than others. It's best to forget about that stuff and enjoy the baby rather than feeling pressure to get back "into shape". Remember that it's not just losing weight. A womans pelvic bones and ribcage expand and they usually don't return to the same position. Even though I weigh 5 kilos less than my pre pregnancy days I am a size bigger. Saying physical shape CAN and WILL be the same as before if the work is put in is not right and very unrealistic!

Where can I find a maid/carer that will breastfeed my baby! Wetnurses are in short supply over here. Perhaps you are not in Australia?

OMG, you are a guy No wonder I was confused. I'm really sorry for making assumptions - I assumed you were the one getting preggers and having a baby, that's why some of your comments baffled me (and yes, perhaps I do need directions on the 'maid/breastfeeding' issue... I'm still lost.)

Ashley - nice but I would spell it Ashlea (more feminine)
    Lana - love it!
London - I think this name is trendy at the moment - but not sure if I like it.
Madeline - LOVE IT - so beautiful.
Sky - Maybe as a middle name.
    Alexis - cute.
    Michael - Is a boy's name.
Kelly - Not crazy on this one.

Just wanted to pop my head in and say - yes, you can get into top physical shape again after a baby, however, a woman might not look the same again, regardless of her fitness level. The stretchies aren't going away, regardless of how many sit-ups I do! Don't be expecting everything to be exactly the same.

Personally, I wouldn't want to go back to my pre-pregnancy shape!! After my first baby, sure I lost the weight pretty quickly (breastfeeding and walking everywhere!) - I had lost 17 of the 20kg I had put on within the first month ... but post-baby shape was curvy - I had hips that could hold up hipster jeans, and I had cleavage so wearing low cut tops wasn't a problem for me anymore! I was a dancer and therefore quite a petite woman pre-babies, but it was nice to become a curvy woman, and I totally embraced (and still do) the changes that child bearing brings to my body!

As for taking a newborn on a plane, I was under the assumption that most airlines prefer not to have babies under 2 months old on board .... but this could be a misconception on my part, perhaps it is the doctors who recommend not taking a baby under 2 months old on an aeroplane? Sorry!

As others have said, you can take babies just about anywhere - it all depends on the baby's temperament and how settled they actually are ... we took our two kids to Movieworld (years ago before #3 and impending #4) when DD was 10months old, and she was quite alert and didn't cause too much of a fuss! I don't think I would have had the tolerance to do it any earlier!!

I think all of those names are nice, except Michael ... perhaps Michaela?

Yep. Are you aware of the idiotic names people actually give their children? You could quite easily be one of those people as far as we know. In addition, it is becoming popular to give girls 'traditional' male names now like Cameron, Reese, Brett and Hayden, so of course you will be taken seriously with Michael.

Oh lighten up. I would never call my daughter Michael. Oh, and Reese Witherspoon and Hayden Panettiere would like a word with you. I can see where you are coming from though. I know there are a lot of unique names going around but to be honest I am a fan of common names. My favorites from that list are probably Ashley and Lana but I do like the other ones too. I think Madeline is a cool name.

Please do not tell us to "lighten up" - you put it in your post.

I really don't feel the need to communicate on this post again as I believe that you are a little rude. Good luck to you and your family.
