I am 10 weeks pregnant and in a recent appointment my OB noted my breast tissue is very lumpy, which she said is normal. Some areas on the under and outer sides are particularly knotty so I was wondering if there are any massage techniques to soften the muscle slightly?
I have noticed that a bit with my lady lumps Since being pregnancy. What I have been doing is in the shower at night is gently, using circular movements with my fingers around the areas that are feeling congested and lumpy. Other than that using my bio oil and cocoa butter using the same circular motions before going to bed and wearing soft/t.shirt bra's. I have noticed a difference Hope that helps.
Yes i started doing that last night in bed actually. I also found online a technique that suggests cupping the breast and swirling for a while first in a clockwise then anti-clockwise direction. I think this is a more general breast health technique though.
Hi Ladylove, From what I've read and spoken with a few friends about is that it is something to with the milk production, as it gets ready sometimes the tubes and things get blocked and cause the lumps.
Like Curly Girl said massage is the single best way to smooth it out. No under wires either is great.
My friend had this issue right up until after the birth of her baby, and had to sit in a warm shower and rub till they cleared (quite painful apparently) before her milk would come in properly.
