My back has been playing up a bit the last few weeks and have been considering getting a pregnancy massage.
Just wondering if anyone else has had one, and was it a worth it or just a waste of time/money??
hi there,i had a preg massage later in my pregnancy. i hated it. i was too uncomfortable, and too protective of my tummy. so every time they went near it i would tense up. but you're not that far into your pregnancy that it would be that uncomfortable so u could give it a go.
I love massage, so when I was pregnant I went regularly to a woman who I knew and was comfortable with and was trained in pregnancy massage. My personal feeling is that the energy has to be right between the therapist and the client, or it just doesn't work. Ask around for a recommendation, so worth it in my opinion. Then again I was also getting regular osteopathy, acupuncture, and attended feldenkrais classes with a physio too I had a fun pregnancy! Lots of pampering. I also had a textbook natural labour and birth
Good luck, I hope your back is better soon whatever you do.
I had a pregnancy massage in Kaleen in Canberra last week by a proper remedial massage lady and it was fantastic, left feeling like floating on air and with energy.
I had one with DD#3 - a proper preg. massage at a reputable day spa. I hated it too. Felt uncomfortable, and it actually made me throw up. I was 32 weeks. I would never do it again. I enjoyed the foot massage 1000 times better. Each to their own though, it may do you some good....GL..
