I have always had a bit of hypoglycemia but since being pregnant it has been horrible. Today has been the worst. I woke up feeling so dizzy and off...ate some whole grain waffles with peanut butter and a glass of milk. 30 minutes later I was still feeling horrible so I had my mother come bring her glucometer. After breakfast my blood sugar was "35"!!!!!!!!!
Is there something the doctors can do about this? I know its not gestational diabetes because the highest my blood sugar ever gets is 130...
i don't know much about glucose levels, but i hope you get some answers soon. It could explain why you have been hungry too, maybe your body needs lots of small meals regularly at the moment. hope you get some answers.
Well I saw the dr. today and she said (your right hot1) that I need to be eating a lot of small meals all day and especially before I go to bed at night.
I was diagnosed with GD about 2 weeks ago, and even though I'm opposite, and my blood sugar levels go too high, it's a similar principle. Have smaller meals and snacks, and try and include at least 1 carb in each snack, then 2-3 with meals. Also sticking with lower GI products so you can have slightly more, but they take longer to go through the system, to avoid extreme levels. After I got over sugar withdrawal headaches, I feel so much better. Can definitely tell now when I'm getting too low, as my headaches get to a point where my eyes are affected. Then a piece of fruit later, I feel human again.
