Oh no! What happened? I've had some that lacked bedside manner too, others have been fine. It shouldn't be a lucky dip though, you feel pretty vulnerable lying there!

i had one argue with me and try and tell me i was further along then i said. we got into a huge argument about my dates that she ended up storming out of the room and came back with the radiographer who confirmed what i said was true. she wasnt very happy with that!
i would definately make a complaint tho! no one should ever be rude xxx

Oh hun I'm sorry you had a sucky time! My first ever ultrasound I had with ds1 was on request of gp coz she was worried about ectopic. I was newly married with dh 1000s of kms away for work and all alone and the technician had about 2mins look (abdominally at about 5wks!) And said 'i can't see anything you'll have to wait longer'. I'm actually kinda glad he didn't suggest an internal scan then even tho it wouldve showed a normal pg coz there's NO WAY I'd way him down there! Sorry to go on about me I just empathize with you and hope you can get another scan later (you too rosetti )

I'm sorry you had a bad one They really need to include bedside manner when teaching people in all areas of medical professions so many nurses, doctors sonographers, etc, are so rude and unfeeling, I don't know why they choose that profession.

Massive hugs JellyBean! Mine made me cry at my 18 week scan too. She told me that the machine was broken and we wouldn't be able to see the scan She didn't sound too worried about it either. We were so excited to be finding out gender and even that was too hard for her, we had to go back another day. They should just go and get a different job.

I had an awful experience when an OB did a scan at RWH Melb when I was under their 'care' (I use the term loosely) when I was pregnant with my DD who was very sick. I still have nightmares about it, so I won't go into it.
I feel your pain and you have all my sympathy. Some people just don't think.

You would think people who want to do those kinds of jobs would embrace their work and go gently, wouldn't you? Otherwise do something else.

my sister went in for her first ever scan at 6w to check how the baby was going as she was bleeding. The tech said she couldn't see anything. So my sister started crying because she feared a MC. The tech said that there is no use crying about it - its either too early to see or its a MC, and if its a MC the crying won't help!!! Turns out it was a ectopic pregnancy and she lost the tube.

Luckily I wasn't there with her! The lady would of gotten a serve from me

We got a rude ***** in my first pregnancy, it was our morphology scan, we had to actually ask for her to let us see the scan ("oh, normally I just do te scan myself, you don't have to see me do measurements" ) and when we asked if she could see the sex she just said "it's better if it's a surprise, it just takes the fun out of it". Um, no it doesn't, having a baby is exciting regardless! She ended up telling us, but she was so rude about it.

I know that theys ee it every day and it's probably not exciting for them and bad days and all that but seriously, we were seeing our baby! You'd think she'd realise it was exciting for us and not just a ho-hum part of her day! That was at our local hospital. We went private for our scans at QDI this time, ended up having to pay for all of them, but we have had really wonderful experiences.

Sometimes thinking of the next 'victim' can give you the courage to speak out? Just a thought.
