My tummy and boobs are soooooooooo damn itchy! I can feel all the skin stretching and it's driving me nuts!
What do other women use on their bellies/boobs to stop the stretch itch? I have been using moogoo MSM cream because I'm getting spotty from the sweat in this heat but I think I need something more!
I had the same thing on my boobs. I got some cream with hydrcortisol in it from the Chemist (at GP's reccomendation) & it worked fabulously. I also changed to cotton bras asap which helped.
I have been going braless around the house with light cotton dreses because I itch so bad... I woke up with scratch marks on my boobs this morning and sides of belly yesterday
I had the same thing too, particularly about the number of weeks you are. I started using bio-oil which helped to begin with and then I broke out in a rash which exacerbated the itch so I think my itch led to eczema. I went to the doctor and got an eczema cream which I still need to use. I switched from bio-oil to a more expensive organic belly rub which I got off the shop on BB. The organic cream has lessened the eczema and the itch, but I still need to use the eczema cream on a few little patches.
Grab some Glycerin from the chemist, little brown glass bottle with a blue and white label.
Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and stay hydrated and stop using anything that claims to "firm skin" is you are.
Thanks LimeSlice! Too hot to get to the chemist right now but just triple checked the MSM cream wasn't a "firming cream" as well. I have been sucking down water like there is no tomorrow because of this damn heat! I sat in a cool bath with DD for a good 40 minutes before that brought some relief to the skin. It seems to have settled this afternoon.
i used palmers cocoa buter, been real slack this time and havent realy bother that much, but now reading your post, my tummy is itchy as all hell right now! thank you very much!!
I used Sukin moisturiser the whole way through my pg, and pure almond oil from the Health food shop. it was like $10 and has lasted over 10 months with just under half left now... It worked wonders!! I had almost scabs from scratching sooo much and those 2 together worked wonderfully!!!
Try to use stuff without parabens, petrochems etc because if your skin is sensitive it is more likely going to burn and irritate the skin more!
Lower back was dominant with last pregnancy but That was also because we had just moved to the very dry climate from moister Melbourne. 12 weeks already Taryn WOW! It's gone fast!
I used a heavy cocoa butter cream that was very thick. I found that thin lotions didnt help and the thick ones did. All in all there will be days nothing will work...the perks of being prego.
