Unhappy Scan dates 2 weeks different to mine

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but I went in for a scan today thinking I was 11 weeks and 5 days only to be told that the baby is measuring at 9 weeks and 5 days.
Heart rate was fine and they said not to worry because everything looked good but I am still worried.

I thought my dates were right, maybe they weren't but this has really freaked me out.

    Should I be worried?

I don't think you should be worried. I had the exact same thing happen with DS. I ended up giving birth to him 3 days before the hospitals dates.

All the best for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

total frog, i did know of a lady who was absolutely sure on her dates, who had the same thing, she measured two weeks behind, but almost pretty much spot on to 38 weeks she gave birth. maybe go back in a week or two, just to check all is ok in there.

Remember that at this stage 2 weeks difference is less than a millimeter on the scan. So much of the measurements depends on the skill and experience of the person taking the scan. Also remember that measuring to dates is an average and to get an average you need bubs that are above and below that point.

My little bundle has been measuring between 1 and 2 weeks behind from the beginning but we know the date for sure because it was IVF. But everything is perfect - Sunshine is just on the small side of the average.

If you are really concerned ask you Dr for a repeat scan.

they did this with DS (#2).
No point arguing with them so i just said ok. Then as i approached 37 weeks and went into labour i wasnt surprised! they never listened to me.

I told everyone i was due that 2+ weeks later like the scan said and i didnt get bothered when my 'real' due date approached lol

Thanx guys. The more I think about it the more I think I could have my dates mixed up but I am still not sure.

I really need to start a)planning babies instead of having them surprise me all the time and b)writing things down!

The sonographer was emphatic that everything looked perfect - I think she could see the terror in my eyes.

My dates are about 1 week out, not really a problem unless you go overdue..as it turns out i am quite happy to go with there dates now as they want to book me for a CS and if I go with there dates I will be 1 week overdue, me thinks a good chance to go into natural labour...hehehe!!!

If everything else was good try hard not too worry, beleive me I know how hard that is, but you can't change anything...take it a day at a time and enjoy what you can..not long to your big scan statiscally speaking your odds are very good now. Good luck I am sure its all okay.
