Scratchy eyes

I'm 34 weeks pg and in the last two weeks or so I've developed really scratchy eyes.

I've had conjuntivitis before and this is not the same. My eyes are red and feel dry and feel like there's something in them. Has anyone heard of this as a pregnancy symtpom??
I've searched on the Net a bit and it seems it could be but I've never heard of it before.

Anyone experienced this? How long did it last and how did you treat it?

Never experienced it..I would go to an Optomemstrist ASAP and get it checked out. It could be dry eyes and they will recommend drops.

It sounds like when I get hayfever (and also if I have been wearing my contact lenses for too long without removing them). Little particals of dust get under the lids and irritate and scratch your eyes, the itching for me is caused by the allergy side of hayfever. The best relief i have found for this is to flush your eyes with saline solution, and then lay down with a cool damp cloth over your eyes - and at all costs try to resist the urge to rub them; it will only make them worse.
