This morning I had a couple of pains in my tummy that were enough to wake me up.... then today I've had really soft poos (sorry TMI) and now I feel like I have a tight band around the top of my belly......
The tightening could just be braxton hicks-i would get a tightening across the top of my belly- but not a constant one- it would come and go- also it would happen if i spent too long leaning over on the computer or just in an uncomfy position- try laying back on your back and relaxing with some deep breaths. Not too sure about the belly pains and soft poo's.... have you been a bit blocked up (lol more tmi needed- ie have you been constipated in the last few days?)
Are you still feeling bubs move? Have you had any funny colour discharge?
If your still feeling regular movements and no yucky stuff is coming out- i would say its nothing to stress too much about- However i am a better to be safe than sorry kinda gal.. so when is your next drs appt? If its soon- i would wait and mention it to your dr or midwife- but if its still a few weeks away i would make one sooner just to check if you may have a slight infection or something.
If you are in alot of pain or really worried- just call your hospital and be put through to the maternity ward and ask a midwife if you can come in for some monitoring- they will check bubs heart rate and movements and take a urine sample to see if there is an infection and that might be enough to reassure you. You can do this ANYTIME night or day and they SHOULD say its ok- depending if they are having a really busy night there or not!
Hi SB....thanks so much!
No haven't been blocked up and i haven't had any discharge thank goodness.
bubs it still moving about although he is a bit quieter than normal.
i haven't really had BH before, so i'm sure thats all it is.
i'll see how i go tonight and if it's still there tomrrow i think i'll shoot up to the midwife.
Yeah it does sound like BH- just play it by ear- try and relax a little- and just keep an eye on bubs movements. I had a full on BH and bubs slowed down a fair bit afterwards.. i got really scared and went to the dr- and of course the whole time i was in the waiting room waiting to say i hadnt felt him move in a while..... he was moving constantly- felt silly- but like i said- always better to be safe than sorry!!
SB - I'm the same i think the midwives used to screen my calls in my first trimester...LOL
it doesn't help that I have a friend who gave birth at 26 weeks and she popped over to visit today and shared some choice pieces of info....lol
her bubs is ok thank god but every time i get a twinge she gets me jumping to the worst conclusion
Yeah the midwives knew me by name by the end!! lol
Just follow your gut- (lol literally!!) and if you get to the point where you are really worried- just go there!! Even if it turns out o be nothing- you will get a cup of tea made for you- a listen to bubs heart beat and a bit of a rest in a comfy reclining bed!!
