    Skin tags....

This is embarrassing. Like my excess hair growth isn't bad enough . I thought I'd grown a hemorrhoid over the weekend. I wasn't thrilled but I'd had them with DD and knew what to do and that it would eventually go. I was at my doctors for my flu shot on Tuesday and mentioned it to her so naturally she wanted to have a look. It turns out it's a skin tag - right next to my anus I'm sure she said it would go but I've read a bit about them on the net and they don't disappear unless you get them removed

Seriously, what a place to grow a skin tag!!! It's annoying, feels much like a rhoid and it's bleeding a bit (the doctor said that could happen and it would be OK). I never thought I'd say this but I'd prefer a rhoid any day!!

Has anyone else experienced pregnancy related skin tags and in such a delicate area? Any advice?

I've grown a few small ones under my breasts. Joyous - not. Thought I read somewhere that they would go after pregnancy. Think it was in the book Up the Duff that said that. Hope its right otherwise ouch for us!!!

Ouch hun - I have quite a few under my arms and one is quite big too - you can get them removed which is pretty simple apparently or my gf put a tiny piece of cotton and tied it around it to make it fall off I haven't tried it but want to get mine sorted before summer. xoxoxox

Yes I got one down in that region towards the end of my 2nd pregnancy I think, was disgusting, I honestly don't know what has happened to it, I think it may have reduced in size when not pregnant, the joys of pregnancy no one tells you about these lovely things that can develop.

Haven't had one down there but with each pregnancy I seem to have accumulated more of them elsewhere I have them under my breasts and arms and on my tummy. They haven't gone either after the pregnancies. On Embarrassing Bodies the doctor on there just tied a piece of cotton around it and told the lady it would fall off. Might try that with some of the big ones.

I got one on my vagina, but it went away.

    thank goodness.

Kaz Cooke said hers went away too.

But DH has some (obviously not from being pregnant!!) and some of his come and go, others just stay.

When pregnant with DS1, I got one under my breast and another on the inner fold of my leg. Sorry to say but they are still there! AND, the one under my breast has grown bigger still with this pregnancy. Luckily they aren't painful or anything. Maybe whether they go or not depends on the individual?

I have had heaps of skin tags in my time. If I can I tie them off like someone else mentioned. If it pinches too much I just tie it not so tightly and as the area loses blood supply it is less sensitive and I can tie it a bit tighter. Often though they don't have too much feeling and I can tie them pretty tight the first time. Eventually then they just fall off and I don't even usually notice. I have one under my eye at the moment but firstly it isn't big enough to tie and secondly I would do it there as it is so close to my eye and it takes a few days to work so would look like a freak. A really sensitive area I would probably check it is ok to do first. HTH.

Awww girls, I feel so much more normal now When I checked this thread again last night I assumed I was a bit of a weirdo as no one had replied!

Interesting that some skin tags disappear and some don't. I told one of the girls from my MG and she said she had heaps of tags in her last pregnancy but they all disappeared. Hopefully mine will go as I'm not sure a piece of string hanging from my butt would be much more comfortable In all seriousness, I think I'd have to get it removed if it doesn't go on it's own or it causes me more grief.

Thanks for all the advice and just making me feel more normal girls.

Tea tree oil! Dab it on constantly throughout the day and it will dry up and drop off. Has worked every time for me and I get quite a few. When I was preggo I got HEAPS 'down there'.

i had one under my eye, and after it didn't go away after the pregnancy, i cut it off. i wouldn't recommend it, but it worked and hasn't come back. My GP wouldn't cut it off because of where it was and gave me a referral to a specialist but i got impatient.

Interesting about the tea tree oil - i'm going to give this a go, plus DH gets them as well so i'll give him a dab of the old tea tree oil.

yup. DH has used nail scissors, and very sharp nail clippers. Hurts and bled, but not as bad as the rubbing apparently hurt.

I get them down there I got them when I was pregnant with the twins on the inside of my thigh and this time I have as well, but on my labia as well.. Top that off with the wetness of progesterone pessaries leaking out and I'm just feeling REALLY sexy lol.. (Sorry TMI lol)

I got DF to cut mine off too. I was drunk at the time and it poured with blood! I think it came back too! (Obviously I wasn't pregnant) I think next time I'll go to the Drs..
