So embarrassing...but still need to ask (maybe TMI)
Hey there Ladies
for some weird reason I have been having "Erotic" dreams lately...for most this would be wonderful but for some odd reason I keep thinking that towards the end of pregnancy your'e not meant to orgasm....
I was of the belief that orgasm towards the end can bring on premature labour and it has been recommended to abstain - I'm not sure if this is just an Old Wives tale - or if there is some method to the madness??
It's really bizarre waking up out of your sleep all aroused and have a willing and able (yes he is still interested.... ) husband laying there waiting for me to jump his bones.
So I suppose what I am wondering is:
Should you still be able orgasm at this stage of pregnancy and if not what are the reasons behind not doing so....
Sorry - if this is TMI - but give me strength I feel like I'm living me life in a Porno at times
LOL DiannaQ! I was under the impression it was fine right throughout pregnancy. But I've also heard that DTD can help induce labour, so I dunno! Sounds like a bit of a contradiction.
Yes your orgasm can bring on labour also there is a hormone in sperm that can also bring on labour.
In fact havibd sex is one of the reccomendations I make to women who are past their dates and are worried about being induced.
However after saying that it is very unlikely but not impossable that it will bring on labout at 36 weeks. So I say enjoy it while you can, you are going to be very tired after the baby is born
LOL Dianna - I loved those dreams!!! Enjoy them & enjoy your hubby too I never worried about it bringing on labour early, I think it would only be a concern if you were considered a high risk pg.
I was exactly the same when in 3rd tri. I was always ready to go and had the best O's of my life when preg- something to do with all the extra blood low or something!!
We were a bit like rabbits (I feel like i should write this in AO) and Ryley was 2 weeks late so hopefully that caneasy your mind a bit!!
Feel free to pass some of those vibes my way. Whilst pg with DS i couldn't get enough, now with this pg poor DH had been neglected. I feel really bad cause my brain is all for it but the body is not - I guess it must be a hormonal thing???. So I say enjoy it now and for the next few weeks cause once bubs comes your DH may have to take a back seat for a while while you recover.
Are you having a BOY????? Reason I ask is b/c with my 2nd pregnancy I was the same, wanted DH probably too much in the 3rd tri and I have heard it's b/c you are having a boy. The male hormones are racing through your body LOL
We never found out what we were having but when I look back on both my pregnancies I was way more horny with DS than DD's. Dreams included.
I have a friend that is a head midwife and she said that you would need to have sex 20 times to produce enough stuff in the sperm that brings on labour and I'm sure most of you'll agree, that aint gunna happen when you are heavily pg!
Yep - we're having a boy!! - funny looking back now - all my friends who have been pregnant with boys have been exceptionally "Randy" - even my friend who doesn't like sex in normal life 8-[
One of my other girlfriends has 2 boys and used to demand it from her DH - she would literally jump him in the doorway - poor bugger just wanted to take his work boots off and have a cold drink - she had other plans!!!
Looks like those male hormones have a lot to explain for
