    Smile Uggg more food.

    Hi everyone!

I'm working my way through the do's and don'ts of nutrition - what a joy this is! I've crammed my mouth around breakfast (a raisin toast muffin), lunch (a boiled egg sandwich - was driving!! - would normally have soup), afternoon tea (dried apricots), dinner (schnitzel and peas and corn), desert (jelly), supper (banana with yoghurt, two slices of toast) and two glasses of juice, one of milk and two litres of water. This is actually a slack day for me - usually I'm eating apples and rice or pasta too. But seriously!!! How much can I consume? I'm 8 weeks with my first, so far, successful pregnancy and naturally, like all of us, want to do everything right - does anyone have any ideas on how to consolidate all of this into a weeks worth of healthy eating options? I feel like I'm about to be a bloating blimp pretty soon and that my longed for baby-bump will be hidden amoungst the folds!!!

    Thanks everyone!

Having just had two left over slices of pizza for breakfast I am not much help!!
I just try to eat fruit and veg as often as possible, I have a vegie smoothy every morning (blended spinach, celery, cucumber, green apple, mint, lemon and ginger) and try for another kind of fresh juice during the day.
Also sandwiches with salad on it (as well as the egg, or whatever you like. ) Normally I would try to have oats with banana or something in the morning.
Anyway, just do your best and don't worry too much. I love that I have an excuse to EAT and I do just that!! I always have GREAT health intentions and I always end up being far less healthy than I normally am, but whatever, I have decided not to worry about it!!
    Enjoy your pregnancy xoxoxo
PS I started out having snacks of vege sticks with hommus that I had made, but unfortunately everything i ate in the first 6 weeks I can't look at now!!

You bubby will be going through growth spurts as well now, so eat when you are hungry because at other times you may loose your appetite. What you are eating is a fantastic daily average, maybe a little bit too little So add the apple and rice!!

Breakfast is best with protein. If you consume protein in the morning, it helps you to stay full longer throughout the day. So, if you are on the run, protein smoothies are a great option, swap your breakfast with your lunch, so have the egg sandwich for breakfast & the raisen toast or soup for lunch. Protein takes longer to break down, so thats why it helps you stay full longer. Fruit & veges are your best snacking options so you are doing well!
