I'm sure it's nothing to worry about either!
It probably floats around all over the place I would say!

In an earlier scan I was told they move all around the cord and the sonographer wasn't at all worried. At that stage I pictured it like a skipping rope for my little one , but as Lovemykids said, if you are worried later on talk to your care provider, or get another scan.

    Hi Jodi

There is nothing to worry about. The cord is floating in the fluid and moves all the time. I would be willing to bet that within a few minutes of your US the cord had moved.

FYI about 20% of babies are born with the cord around the neck. Sometimes it wrapped around more than once. In most cases this is not a problem but just occasionally we need to do a couple of things to help.

Hi Jodi - I had the same experience a you.....during a scan around 30 weeks our baby was sucking on the cord! We also have pics of it near her face, near her neck etc etc. I totally freaked out! I know it is normal just like the others have said but that didn't stop me worrying just a little still. I took comfort in the fact that the cord is slippery and I could still feel her moving around inside of me and hoping she was smart enough to keep that cord untangled!

Oh guys, thank you so much for your encouragement. It really means a lot.
alan - thanks for those stats. You only ever hear of the horror stories where the cord was wrapped around bubs neck which ended in an emergency c/s as bub was destressed.

    now THAT is awesome!

    ...

I reckon as the others have mentioned that it is all AOK. from what i have read they do all kinds of crazy things with the cord, like grab it...and lick it .
