I had little choice but to volunteer the information at 6 weeks. By then my HG had set in fiercely. If I didn't tell the older ones, they would have worked it out themselves. Probably not been happy about having to work it out themselves. They arent known for silence or tact and one of my younger sisters found out when CJ blurted out "So have you told them you are pregnant yet?" at christmas.

It really depends on the child as to how they go with the news. Angie wants it to be a sister (she doesnt even talk to the one she has ), but Harry is SO thrilled. He gives the bump cuddles and tries shoving his cup through my belly button to give the baby "mookies". But he loves babies. One of his favourite movies is Ice Age, and he calls it the "baby movie". Maybe that helped some - and it might help you to warm them up to babies first.

HTH.
