My Dd is only 20mths. I told her when everyone started attacking my tummy about 18wks or so. At first she thought everyone had a baby in their tummy including her. But now she kinda gets that there's only a baby in mummy's tummy. From time to time she suprises me with kisses for the baby and plays peek-a-boo. We don't make a big thing of telling her all the time but she does get told not to be rough with mummmy's tummy because of the baby. (She likes to walk on my tummy or kick my tummy when we are laying in bed).
I know she won't understand fully until it's actually born, but she knows what a baby is outside of a tummy as she is in daycare with babies (and is sooo cute trying to rock them or give then their dropped bottle back). But beware if anyone trys to takes her SHOES!
We told the kids when I was 5/6 weeks both times. A bit early but I couldn't keep quiet.
Dunno, Nic... I don't think so, tho.
I didn't tell DD till last week![]()
I think she suspected something was up because I'd seen her eyeing off my belly but after our loss I didn't want to have to face the prospect of 'untelling' her.
I think I was about 28 weeks when we told her i was prg with DS, but she was only about 2 and didn't really get it anyway - she's kinda off with the fairies most of the time this kid
Her understanding and excitement this time has been great though!
