As my husband and I have phones with facebook and a camera we will announce via facebook with a photo. A planned c-section so everyone will know what day and the sex so details will all that will need to be advised.

Being most of my friends are in NZ I know I HATE waiting for pictures lol

We called the super important people, texted the next most important people, and I guess the rest found out eventually, ha ha. On the topic of facebook, someone did write about the arrival of DD prior to us even posting a thing about her, and they even spelt her name wrong. (yes, it still annoys me 6 months on, ha ha!) So I hope no-one spoils the announcement for you! It's kinda something you like to do yourself!!

Called our parents and DH sent everyone else a text...the last one was "Oh ****, it's a girl and Oh ****, she has red hair", and that was all he sent!
I'm not a fan of doing big announcements on FB.

Maybe deactivate your facebook until you are ready then no one can jump the gun?

DH called his parents, I had my mum and she called my dad and everyone else got a text.

We had a blanket sms go out (we could set up groups in our phones, so prior to the delivery we made sure we had all the people in the group) (Parents, siblings, special friends, Nettie! etc), and sent a pic message straight away.

Then we used FB from our phones (I have a delightful pic of me doing the first BF while telling the world ie, updating my FB status!!)

DD1 - i had an SMS ready but due to her quick birth i have no idea who told who. I was on the phone to mum and as far as i know she called my brother and my nans but i have no idea who called my dad.
Once we actually got to hosp i sent a txt but the story was already out there and had a couple of comments on FB.

DD2 - we had an SMS ready to go, we called our parents that night (i think) and then sent the SMS first thing in the morning, then i updated FB on my mob with a msg from us

Pretty much as almost as DS was born, dh rang my mum and his mum. They pretty much did the rest.

I'm gonna have to have a chat with dh this time round, as I want to wait a little while just the 3 of us, before DS is overwhelmed with having a little brother / sister. Mil will probably be the first to know, as she'll be looking after DS if I'm in labour at night or over the weekend...
