Skorpy, I can so understand that feeling. You're so close, and it's baby number 3 so I'm wondering if maybe you will go anyway in the next couple of days. Hope it isn't too far off for you.

I certainly cant wait untill this baby is out.Infact Im asking on Thursday if there is a chance to be induced because of my swollen foot, ankle and leg.I have NO shoes that fit and I dont know how I am going to get to my clinic bare foot lol.I can hardly walk and it is uncomfortable and my leg feels like its stretching when I walk and burning sensation in the top of my foot and leg. By evening ,it feels like I am walking on pads.
Apparently after my visit to maternity yesterday, the pressed into my leg and left dents in it,and they call it playdoh legs.Wonder if they will Induce me at 39 weeks.

Skorpy,
I hope they induce you or do something for your leg! That must be painful at the best of times little own being preg!
Goodluck and hope they do something!

Skorpy, many of my clients have great success with acupuncture. One had her waters break in the waiting room afterwards, the rest labour in a few days even at 39 weeks. Perhaps do some research and see if you can find a good acupuncturist who specialises in gyn issues. There are some articles on the main site for natural and medical induction which you can read:

Skorpy I definately plan on having acupuncture at 39 weeksand some Bowen massage. I don't want to be induced unnaturally but I know the hospital will put a big push on me to go straight to c/s so I am going to be doing all the things in Kelly's article first.
I totally understand how you feel. With Gemma for the last couple of weeks my feet, ankles and lower legs swelled like oyu wouldn't believe!! Most docs though probably won't induce as there is no medical reason to do so(e.g you or bub are fine, uncomfortable but fine!LOL!) I'd try the acupuncture as I've had friends swear by it!!
Goodluck..........I hope you go into labour really soon!Sending you tonnes of labour vibes!!
Skorpy, I had such bad swelling that I was hospitalised for a weekend at 37 weeks.
I had no knees and old scars on my ankles were really painful because they were so stretched. In both legs too, but the left was worse. I went into spontaneous labour on my due date. It still hasn't gone away. They said it can take up to 2 weeks after the birth. I say go for the acupuncture, and start taking Evening Primrose Oil if you havent already.
Hi,
I hope they agree to induce you.
I think i would be doing the same thing if i was in your position with that foot and leg.
Ah Scorpy, that sounds awful. Hope you get something sorted soon.
On the upside, at least your other kidlets can play with your playdough legs!
I soooooo know how you feel! I am 40 weeks in 2 days and i want this baby out!!!!!!!! Ive definately had enough. My feet and ankles are swollen too and im going to the bathroom now every 1 hour during the night. But even with all that agony im keeping in mind that it is probably better for the baby for me to just put up with my symptoms until he feels its time. But in saying that, time better come soon!!!!
LOL @ kids play with my playdoh legs.
Thanks guys. Looks like I may have to do something myself around 38 to 39 weeks...or try. Everytime I think I can put my feet up to rest them,I am having to get up to do something else ,bah!!!
Hi girls
Went in for my scan today and they reckon baby roughly around 6 and half pound mark.Ok saying I was going to ask about being induced today when I went to my clinic for 39 weeks because of my swollen foot and leg.The Doctor said she would have to ask my main Doctor who was looking after me through my pregnancy and explain to him that im stressed and finding my swollen foot and leg painful and can hardly walk on it.But she warned me that he normally likes to wait till 40 weeks to give baby longer time.
She came back in the room after 15 minutes and said to me that he will induce me NEXT WEDNESDAY (6 days time) OMG!! .I was asking for a week before and hes inducing me at 38 weeks,2 weeks before.Total shock. My husband was well excited on the phone. And now has to bring his time off work dates forward. I am now classed as full term,so baby is a good size too.Wow what a shock.
