Hi ladies - wow, I just found out I'm having twins, OMG!!!
Can anyone point me in the direction of some good twin resources, I really don't know where to start but I guess managing the pregnancy, labour, the aftermath etc
Wow!! I have no advice but just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS! I would love to have had twins! I will have a 13 month age gap so still two babies but it would be lovely to have twins!
Goodluck for a H&H pregnancy and beyond!

Thanks ladies - it feels quite overwhelming at the moment. We had an US at 7 weeks and the OB only saw one so that's what we were expecting from the NT scan. Then they turned around and said twins and probably identical as she could only spot one placenta. Going to try and do as much reading up as I can so thanks for the links. Wow...
Congratulations!!!!
Twins are a lot harder than 1 baby, but they are also a lot more rewarding.
I remember hearing the 'actually, there's 2' news and not being able to sleep for 2 weeks!! lol My girls have just turned 2 now and seeing them together makes you feel sorry for all the little babies and toddlers who don't have a twin.
Definitely check out AMBA (multiple birth association) they have an online forum which is a wealth of information about pregnancy, birth, equipment and surviving those first tough months.
If your twins are monochorionic (sharing a placenta) then you'll have lots of extra scans and monitoring for twin to twin transfusion. My girls were didi (diamniotic and dichorionic so they had a placenta and a sac each) and even then I had a scan every 4 weeks from 20 weeks to check that both babies were growing evenly.
It's a rollercoaster! You can expect to be about the size of other, fullterm mums when you hit the 6 month mark in your pregnancy so you can have lots of fun with shop assistant's reactions when they ask you how long to go and you reply with '3 months' rotfl. I never used to tell them I was having twins because it was so funny to see their faces.
Anyway, congratulations and all the best. it's an awesome experience.
