Weight gain? also maybe a little TMI sorry

well my dr is a little concerned with how much weight ive gained sicne i last saw him and also because DS was born at 10 pounds so im wondering what is a normal weight gain at 22-23 weeks as ive already put on 7kg. to me this seems normal to me because i put on 23 kg all up with DS but as i said he was born a big boy though and would much rather that not happen again.

Also this may be a little TMI but i have to ask someone before i go to the dr lol. i have for a few weeks had some discharge that i put down to just being pregnant (had it with DS) but latley ive been very dry and itchy but it doesnt seem like thrush or anything to me? could this be a urine infection??? i really have no idea what it is and dont really fancy taking my 2yr to the dr to find out its nothing and just a part of being pregnant.

    thank you all

hey.... I put on only ten it's all up, 3kg of baby... So I cant really help you there.... I imagine the weight is all even , over you body not just your belly so i wouldn't stress....

Sorry can help with the dryness etc maybe just changes in the Vagina, from pregnancy...can't remember. DS was two years ago and then some now......

I read somewhere normal weight gain for pregnancy is 10kg.... But me personally, I think considering everyone is different & every pregnancy is different, I think the normal weight gain is what ever is normal for YOU!

As for the dryness, it proberbly is thrush, but it doesn't hurt to ask your doc about it. if it is an infection, it's better to get it cleared up sooner than later.

Congrats on your pregnancy & good luck!

I don't think there is a right amount of weight to put on. I was not weighed officially during my pregnancy and i don't see what info it really gives you. If you are eating well and feeling well, just go with the flow.

I lost 20kg in the week after birth, some of it baby, some amniotic fluid and some fluid throughout my body.

My OB never once weighed me nor did any of the midwives at the hospital and I put on about 25kg's. It's funny that 1/2 the people i speak to think normal is 10kg's and the other 1/2 think 20kg's is normal. I think whatever is normal for you is what normal is Can't help out with the itchy thing though.

I agree with what the others are saying it is what is normal for you and your body i myself usually put on between 8-10kgs and so far with this bub i have put on 5-6kg and i am 31 weeks.
I have a girlfriend with 3 boys who put on between 25-45kgs each baby and it diddnt matter what she did she looked 6 months pregnant at 8 weeks i have never seen someone almost double their body size in 9 months she did a total morph but after bubs arrived withing 6 months she was back to her normal weight.

I'm probably a bit late here coz you've already been given heaps of good advice, just wanted to let u know I put on 21kg while pg, no gd and a 8lb13 bub. I also had an itchy hoohah at times and was told to 'air' when I could (I live in the tropics) but I drank a glass of cranberry juice a day and when I did that it cleared right up and was alot more comfortable. When I stopped drinking the juice it came back... Worth a try!

cranberry juice is good for UTI (urinary tract infections) - gee being a female is tricky

you only need a small amount (it is exxy to buy), so i took it like medicine (except, yummy)

good when you HAVE a uti or when you want to PREVENT a uti.

drink lots of water to flush your system out too, remembering to drink water - it's a constant "thing"
