Question Were you/were you happy with the look of your pg belly?

Okay, that was supposed to read "Are you/were you..."

The reason I ask, is that I'm really not. I know that it ultimately doesn't matter what your pg belly looks like, as long as there is a healthy, happy baby at the end, but...

I guess I'm disappointed in the shape of my belly. I love the look of a pregnant belly, but mine just hasn't grown that way. At 33+ weeks I'm not very big (strangers still probably wouldn't be sure if I was pg or not), and I don't have that classic round belly. I see other pg ladies around, and their bellies are so round and beautiful, and I look down at my weird shaped lump and feel a bit sad - like I'm missing out on one of the big parts of being pregnant.

I feel so bad for letting it bother me so much, but it does. All the way through this pregnancy I've been thinking that the big, round belly will come, but so far it hasn't .

Does/has anyone else felt this way?

    Awww sweetheart.
Im sure you look absolutely beautiful and remember you are doing a wonderful job growing that gorgeous baby boy of yours inside. You need to stop comparing yourself to others. There is always others more pretty than us, taller than us, longer hair than us etc etc etc.

Enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy and soon you will have your bubby in your arms and the whole pregnancy will be history :hugs:

Sounds like I have a similar belly. This is my third pregnancy and still I have never had the "typical" pregnancy belly. My boobs are usually bigger than my belly!! but saying that, the things I do like are that my belly button stays in, I don't get stretch marks and I can be quite comfortable up until the birth. They are things others might enjoy but I am happy not to have. I am also not so keen on the weight gain, but I do remind myself what's growing, and its one of those times we really have no control what our body looks like. (ok I could exercise more and maybe not have gained so much......but YKWIM)!!
Enjoy the time, and try not to worry on how your belly looks. I reckon there is ALWAYS something we would like to change! Whether it's shape, size, sickness, tiredness, etc etc. We are women after all!!! xoxoxo

I looked pregnant very early with Nikita and LOVED absolutely LOVED my big preggy belly. We had friends who were a week behind us and she didn't really show at all until she got to around 29 - 30 weeks then apparently all of a sudden she just popped out and was all baby.

Maybe this is what will happen with you maybe your bump is a late bloomer??

I am sure you look beautiful and that soon enough you will have a beautiful big preggy belly with an outy belly button

I did actually like the look of my pregnant body, mostly. Sometimes I felt a bit funny because people would rave on about how small my belly was which was annoying. I also had a linea nigra and it was really dark and noticeable. You could see it if I wore a white top that hugged my belly! But i wouldnt say I was self conscious or disliked my pregnant belly.

I'm sure youre belly looks beautiful. It might be a little differnt to other bellies, but I'm its still beautiful.

    i like my bump.
but i hate how it looks with out a shirt on. my strech marks are horrable!
sometimes i wish my bump was smaller 'cus i keep bumping it (or DH does as well)
its also annoying have a 'big' bump because it means alot of shirts dont sit right - or they're tight where they're not ment to be.

But rember sterla - your bump is yours! im sure your minni man LOVES it. and feels nice and warm and safe...good things come in small packages - amazeing ones come in odd shaped boxes!

I love my pregnant belly!! I'm really happy with it however I don't like my skin on my belly ie my stretchmarks!! I have got heaps of them which I've been a bit self conscious about particularly when i'm at the beach and want to go swimming and not worry about them.... however today I showed them off and I didn't care!

I bet you look beautiful sweety every PG woman is gorgeous!!!

I love DW's pregnant belly. She's just at that stage now where the bump feels hard to the touch, and she has two little dimples either side of her hip bones. She looks gorgeous.

Me personally, I don't like my preg belly either. it was ok when I first started showing up to about 26 weeks, I thought it was cute and was so proud of it lol now, I can't help but compare myself to an albino beached whale... add the stretch marks into the mix and my wonderful DF has his hands full trying to keep my spirits up

I loved my bellies, but then I always had BIG ones LOL so there wasn't any mistaking they were there, but as for pretty belly's, I think only my 2nd one was 'pretty' - it was nice and round whereas my other three all got a bit pointy, more of an egg shape.

Now if you were asking if we liked the look of our backsides during pg, then that would have been a definate NO! ROFL.

I love my belly - even though it has a distinctive right sided bump It is not the same as the *pretty* round ones that are out there but it is mine and it is still beautiful. Now in a few days (hopefully) ask me about my post baby belly and the answer will be COMPLETELY different
