Thanks girls!!
I am trying my best to ignore them. Just got sick of it last night cause someone commented on my FB post (I had said I was tired and wished I could sleep) saying it was going to get worse, commenting at like 1:30am! I mean come on... lol...
Feeling better today, but I swear if someone gives me "advice" I will tell them to shut it unless it's positive and they are going to tell me how great I am going to be! LOL.
people really do say the most ridiculous things I was sleeping really well right up until bub was born and every time people asked me how I was sleeping and I told them great they STILL felt the need to tell me "it'll get worse as you get closer to bub being born" you feel like screaming at them "are you even thinking about what you are staying"??? I'm really sorry you are having a crap sleep at the moment. We were also getting the old "you'll never sleep again" crap but some babies sleep for hours and you might get a huge sleep with them. Not so for us though, I got to sleep heaps while pregnant and now bub wakes every 2-3 hours. They are all different. Rest when you can and call in the troops to help you out if you need it.
ahhh MrsB, people never tell you the good things. I kept on replying to all the negativity at work with positive stuff. And strangely, it was blokes who were giving me the horror stories. I'd just tell them that for most people, most pregnancies, giving birth is no worse than a large bowel movement. And I'm sure they've all done one of those. And I'd tell them about my wonderful husband who ensured I got enough sleep and how supportive he is. (they also didn't like that). They'd tell me about the sleepless nights to come, and I'd refute with how I spent the first 6 weeks on the jason recliner, so Pip could sleep, and I could sleep, and he could feed, and I could watch teev, and it was good. People don't want to know the good news, they just want the bad. They just want to see how you fail, not how you succeed.
Do your research on the good, let it prop you up, and ignore them. They have no idea what it is like to live in a world with hope and happiness.
Lol I hear you loud and clear Mrs Bexie, and I totally agree with you. Lets face it, a newborn wakes say 2 - 4 times a night. Let be really generous and go maybe even 5- 6 times if they are restless or unwell or whatever. But cmon, we would still get more sleep getting up all these times than what we do now!! Im in the same boat, and even the professional just .... well frustrated doesnt quite cut it does it?!?!
We all know no matter how bad things are that yes they will end eventually, but seriously sometimes all we need is a little show of support from our friends and family. And yes we are entitled to try and grab as much sympathy as we can now because we know that once bubba is born, it becomes a matter of "who is mum again, oh but look at this babe is it adorable". We get lost after our bubs are born, and for good reason, but sometimes I think people need to stand back and ask mum how she's doing every once in a while too!!
But yes, if I hear once more - your tough, you'll survive, you did this to yourself, your a glutton for punishment, theres only a few more weeks to go and so on I think I might just surgically remove their tongues, and stitch it to another part of the body that speaks as much sh*t. (Sorry guys but as I said frustrated just doesnt cut it!!) lol.
Good luck lovey my thoughts are with you! xxx
