Go out for dinner and just enjoy some couple time before you become 3![]()
Hi all!
With just 6 weeks to go (or there abouts) I'm starting to try to think of things that DH and I (either separately or together) should do before we have bubs; things that might not be so easy with a newborn around! For instance, we are going to the movies tonight
So, I ask you all, what are some things you recommend us doing now (perhaps something you did or wish you did). Oh, and before you all say sleep, I'm trying my best between waking up a million times each night![]()

I would say go out for dinner too, we used to eat out heaps and its what I miss most.
Yep, date night is THE BEST! DH took me to a restaurant in the city for dinner, after a day of wandering around (with lots of little rest stops!). We went to the aquarium, chatted, held hands and just were together, knowing that the moment was precious and wonderful. Have a great time!
Enjoy showering/bathing by yourself.
Walk around your garden or neighbourhood
Play with your animals (even if you try really hard they will get less attention when bub arrives)
Go out to your fav restaurant
Chat on the phone to people for as long as you want (without having to worry about bub waking)
Read books
Sit on the toilet for a long time and enjoy it!![]()
and definitely a date night![]()
Thanks for all the ideas so far - I will make sure I start on some of these ASAP!
Fancy restaurant dinner
Gold Class movie with the works!
Sleep in
Go out for breaky
Enjoy your last few weeks of preg as its so special
Date night! That's the only thing we can't do often now, is go out to dinner whenever we want.
Ooohh another one, if you aren't on a budget - have a night in a hotel!!!
Great list...yep all that.
Wander aimlessly around the shops without thinking.
Sit and read a book at a cafe or home, flick through a magazine from cover to cover.
Spontaneously decide at 8pm at night you want to go out for coffee and cake.
You can do all of these depending on how flexible you are with a NB, it's once they hit toddler stage or even a few months old once you establish a routine they can be a bit tricky.
I know of a couple who took there NB out to dinner with them to a flashy restauraunt. They put her in a cocoon under the table, she slept the whole time.
I also know a couple who used to put their toddler to bed at say 6:30pm, then transfer her asleep to the car, arrive at the restaraunt, transfer her to pram, then go in eat dinner, transfer her back to car, then bed and she stayed asleep the whole time!!
