Whats the best sensor monitors to have?

I am 32 weeks pregnant and thinking about what monitors to get i know i wanna get the sensor ones with the pad that goes under the mattress but do any of u girls have any idea what and where is the best ones to get?

angel care here as well mine only has the one sensor pad but even in cot with jack rolling is no problem oh and the new model is so pretty has temp thing and everything

Yep Angelcare here too. They are expensive but definately worth the money. I got mine on special in Target for about $150. It gives you peace of mind so you dont keep going in and poking the baby to make sure they are ok ha ha

We're 98% certain we're geting the "BabySense II" monitor. "Angelcare" gives an audible alarm when there's no movement for 20 seconds, the BabySense gives an audible alarm when the breathing rate drops below 10 breaths / minute. Also the pads are a lot bigger. The only thing it doesn't have is the temperature gauge, but for breathing peace of mind, its the only one registered & endorsed by the SIDS foundation as a medical aid.

ANgelcare was great for us. It did go off twice, the first time we nearly died, but it's because she was scrunched up one end of the cot. At least it worked!! xo

I just bought an Angelcare one with 2 sensor pads off ebay for $80. Bargain.

Caro - it has 2 pads - one for the bassinette and 2 for the cot. The pads are bigger than the AngelCare ones.

I just purchased a babysense monitor (not II -so assume it is the model before the one you can buy now) on ebay for $100. I went for this as we have a 2 storey house and I need a video monitor so I'm not running up stairs at every noise and this was the only way I could think to have a video sound monitor and a 'breathing' monitor as such as the Angelcare didn't do the breathing and video monitor together.

Thank you for all your replys, i did have angelcare in mind so think with most of what u ladies had to say about angelcare that i will prob go with them and been looking on ebay for prices of them brand new and i think the prices are very reasonable so thanks again for all your response's. I can completely relate Danni! It sure makes it hard. What I'm doing is only getting bare essentials and buying the rest with the baby bonus, so that's always an option .

I picked up our Angelcare as new at a kids market for $60 and another older one for $10 at a trash & treasure market. Would have bought a new one at full price if I didnt't find the market one. The good thing about the sensor monitors is that they do alarm as opposed to the sound only ones that don't - how do you tell when your baby stops breathing? Not really relevant to the original post but I thought I would mention it.

plus you can take one pad and use for the basinette which you can not with angelcare

Caro, this is NOT true. You can use only one sensor pad with the Angelcare Digital for smaller sleeping areas like basinettes. I bought one yesterday and we tried it out with the one pad in the basinette last night and it worked a treat.

I'm not sure what the babysense has, but I also like the nightlight and thermometre readout on the Angelcare Digital.

Yep - DisGirl is right. I got the Angelcare for this reason too - one pad in her cradle and one in her cot.

Also - the digital/analogue thing. I had to have the Angelcare digital because I have very bad mobile reception coverage in my area (God knows how given I'm 5kms from the CBD) - which apparently also means you have trouble with analogue monitors picking up other signals, or just not working.

Is there any issue with baby being exposed to any electrical emissions or radiation from the battery power source? My DH is worried that this wasn't around i our times as babies and it may come out later that it isn't healthy for bubs to be near battery power all night long
