What's wrong with this name? Your opinions pls ladies :)

    Hi Ladies,

DH and I have narrowed our names to 2 now and she is going to either be a Sienna or an Isabelle.

Some family members who know we have decided it will be one of these 2 keep harping on about the name Sienna, it's been said to be Bogan, to be too much of a fad name, ppl turn their noses up.

We have said to respect our choice and that it's offencive when they keep harping on about how much they dislike the name but i'm curious, what do you think?

Sick of ppl suggesting alternatives when we are happy with our choices, we should have kept them to ourselves but we didn't, excitement I guess

We think it's a pretty name, what are your thoughts?

I think it's a beautiful name, if you two like it that is what is important.

To answer your 'what are your thoughts' question - Personally I would not use, although they are both pretty names they are very popular at the moment and I agree with the 'too much of a fad name' comment.

On the other hand, this is why I didn't share DD1's name, I did not want to hear anyones comments, once she was born and named no-one dared say a bad thing, not that anyone could her name is beautiful (to me ).

If you love it, use it, that is all that really matters.

This is why we don't let ppl know of the selected name until we announce bubs arrival

I think Sienna is quite cute; but I think Isabelle would win in our household.

its up to you what you use.

funny you mentioned bogans though as when i was in hosp the bogans in the next bed (who thankfully only stayed 1 night) named their baby Sienna.

I do prefer Isabelle personally.... i just think it is prettier

Oh. When I read the first line I thought I would pick Sienna from those choices

I've never thought of it as a bogan name at all. Both names are pretty popular at the moment so I guess there are going to be bogans with the name... and lots of other people!

I don't see what's 'bogan' about it! Maybe if you spelled it See-enna or something it might have a bogan ring to it then lol.

Wonder if the Italian community here in North Vic would like to know that Sienna is classes now as a bogan name....but agree its a name that has been over killed due to popularity.

I really wish people would respect others choices its better then not having a dame name at all.

    I quite like Cyennagh...

There is nothing wrong with them. They are nice, normal, beautiful names that are easy to spell. Others mightn't like them, but whatever, that's why we're not all called John and Jane.

I'm another one who is severely tight-lipped about our names. For that reason - I know SIL doesn't like ours, but I don't care - we do.

I was going to add 'pqux' in there with a silent 'pqux' but decided against it because I didn't think anyone would appreciate my warped sense of humor. Lol
