Question When did your breach bub turn?

So, when did your breach bubba turn? (Or did they turn at all?)

I'm coming up to 31 weeks and this little one has got his head up against my ribs on the right and seems to like doing a little dance with his feet on the insided of the out door Somewhat uncomfortable Lol

I've started acupuncture and moxibustion to see if that offers him any encouragement.

So . . . When did your bubba turn?

Also does anyone know at what point are they usually officially diagnosed as being either footling or frank breach?

my first was born breach by c/section - that decision was made at 38.5 weeks but not in light and was after positioning exercises, attempts at turning and viewing position and on review post birth it was the right decision at the time ( alot of post birth factors regarding positioning, size, skull fusion etc to be considered in this instance). I could have given it a bit longer if I had liked but due to knowledge at the time went with the c/section.

my other two however flipped up and down all the way up to 37 weeks before they positioned themselves head down and remained there - they were both dramatically smaller than my first and still had plenty of room to move and were much more mobile throughout the pregnancy anyway

some babies don't turn until just before labour I believe so as late as the 39/40 week mark. Some OBs might look to apply pressure early but none of mine have considered it an issue prior to 38 weeks other than to comment on if they don't turn prior to labour we will have to discuss c/sect (due to their position on delivering breech babies) and by 38 weeks my other two have all been head and ready to go - pity other issues then got in the way for VBAC.

I wouldn't be worrying about it yet and would be working on the exercises as you are.

A friend of mine just had her third and she was still flipfloping until 37 plus weeks - baby turned and she had VB in 1.5hrs at 39 weeks.

    Thanks for your replies ladies.
Jaspen, I've got a few issues hindering my vbac also. I have GD this time around (so bub may grow a little bigger than he should) and I'm at risk of having blood pressure problems again. I'm having a scan at 33 weeks so it will be interresting to see whether bub has turned and if he is big for dates or not.

    thanks again.

hm.. my ds turned the day before his scheduled c/section (for being breech). so that was at 37.5 weeks. i had already talked myself around to a c/s, and lost the plot, demanding my ob still performed it. (i had had a really bad pregnancy, so i just wanted it over!)

My DD1 did not turn she was delivered frank breach, DD2 turned late but I cannot remember when... definately after 31 weeks though, more towards 34-35 weeks.

I (as in when my Mum was pregnant with me) didn't turn until my Mum was in labour.

There seems to be a breach pattern with me

Good luck, I hope your little boys turns for you soon.

When did your breach bub turn?

DD turned transverse to breech at 37w and breech to cephalic at 38w.

This child is still transverse but is on the move and it is looking to be cephalic. I hope!!!!!! And soon so I can go home!!!!! Although anything blocking the exit will suit me just fine

my boys didnt turn until last moments, but i am only 5ft 2 my boys were almost 8 and 9 lb and extra fluid! so my DS 2 used to flip forwards when i was 30 odd weeks along wasnt the most pleasent experiance lol and more than occasion. my first tried turning when i was in labour but ended up transverse and stuck behind my pancreas! (or how you spell it lol). my sister also had c section from breech bub she was breech then turnt stayed head first until labour and decided to change her mind! her bub was only just over 6 lb's! it doesnt matter what size cause they can turn themselves its just if their happy being stubborn lol.
i cant have a natural birth, (lots of problems! thank god i didnt try delievering naturally! they didnt know until a d&c!) but i really hope she turns for you! xxx
