Doh! Love it!
I was heavily pg during summer and spent much of my time without shoes coz it was more comfortable.
Every time I go out I look down and check that I've remembered to put my shoes on! I'm sure one day I'm going to forget. Damn pg brain!
I think the saying relates to women not be allowed to work outside of the home (hence not need any shoes because they don't need to leave) and having as many children as possible during their reproductive years to grow the "village".
Tom Cruise remarked once that he was going to keep Katie Holmes "barefoot and pregnant for many years to come" and she just gave a giggle by his side. I felt like shaking some god damn sense into her and shouting "you silly girl"!!
I know what it really means. But it fitted in with my preggy moment.
i spent the last 3 months of my prgnancy bare foot because i couldnt get anything to fit due to fluid ! . i remember walking thru the hospital the day of my induction with track pants and over size tshirt and bare feet because i couldnt get anything else on ! .
