    the WORST hayfever!!!!

I am 30 weeks preg... and I am suffering from severe hayfever.
I told my midwife, she said she can't think of anytihng that I am allowed to take for it.
She suggested I try acupuncture, but I work. I just don't have the time. Plus, i'm not really into that stuff....
    It's killing me!
It's making it hard to function and concentrate when I'm at work.
Plus the watery eyes, sneezing and sniffing doesn't look too attractive and professional when I'm the one that greets all the clients.
There's GOT to be something i can take!!!

Oh I have TERRIBLE hayfever too, I was dreading being pregnant at this time as I get so sneezy and itchy eyes, runny nose, etc.
I've talked to a few doctors and chemists and such, and they've all told me to take Polaramine. It only works for 4hrs and it's one of the ones that can make u sleepy, but if u really need it, that's what I'd do! Also, if ur eyes look terrible, they have antihistamine eye drops called "Naphcon-a" (I think?) they work very well and come in a little red bottle, maybe just ask the chemist when u go in?
That's what I do Hun, hope I've helped! I know how nasty it is and how desperate u feel for relief, and I hope u get some!!!

Recently I was severely attacked by Midgies and was so itchy I was scratching in my sleep going insane & infecting them. My Doc said I could have polaramine which as I'm sure you know is a antihistamine (sp?) so this will help with hayfever too.
    HTH.

Also see if you can get a hold of a 'nettie pot' - it looks like a little teapot, but you fill it with warm water and you ip you head over onto one side, pour the water into one nostril and let it run right through so it comes out the other nostril. It will help flush all the pollen from your sinuses and ease some of the pain and congestion from it.

Polaramine is only ok before 3rd trimester... I was taking it up until about 27 weeks and haven't touched it since! It's a category C in 3rd so I definitely wouldn't take it without checking with your doctor.

Good luck!!! I understand how crappy hayfever is!!!
FESS nasal spray n eye drops helped me a bit (not heaps but stopping the itching for a little bit!!)
