OMG... Where has the past year gone. It is so hard to believe that 1 year ago we welcomed a tiny little girl into our little family and now she is growing up into a big cheeky toddler.

mum and dad were due to leave today but virgin just cancelled their flight! so all visitors may not be gone... i wouldn't mind if they had another night with us here, a quiet night with us and bubba alone :) so fingers crossed they get rebooked for tomorrow. :)

Grub fingers crossed for you. We pick up the new car today. At this stage I am going to meet DH at the car yard to organise the insurance as we dont have any of the details of the car yet. How sad is this I havent driven it or even looked inside it. It is Dhs car and I am now hoping that with his having a dual cab so he can put the kids in it I will never have to get in his car again. lol He is a brickie and his car is always grotty. We have the new car seats all organised. yay
Campbell who is almost 4 came out of the toy room with his purse saying he needed money. Told me that the money goes in here pointing to the card slots. Well he does see me paying for everything with cards but anyway showed him where the money went and gave him a hand full od fives cent pieces, he thinks he is the richest person in the world and has made me promise to take him to the shop when Xavier wakes up. At least I have taught him well he NEEDS to buy chocolate. hehehehe
Hope everyone is having a good week. School is back this week so back to our usual drop offs and pick ups all week. Today is playgroup.

Hi to everyone else - well I feel like I am always on the run at the moment so don't really have a lot of time to reply, but I am always reading. All is well here - Jazzy is now 18 months old and just amazing. The only bummer is that she had another febrile convulsion the other night - so now we are up to 5 in total. Poor little thing - really cannot wait for her to grow out of it. She has been recently checked over by Paed and given a clean bill of health apart from the ongoing convulsions. I now know that she is a whooping 82.5cms long and weighs in at 11.02kgs. So it puts her in the 80th percentile for height and the 50th percentile for weight. So she is a tall one! In fact she has grown more than the length of a ruler (30cms+) in 18 months - that is amazing!

okay so transfer last friday. and busy busy week wtih family/baptism etc. start to spot the other day and when it appeared to be heavier called the clinic for a BT this morning as "i'm getting my period and want to get a jump on the next FET''.
call back from the clinic today - BFP!!! B-EFFING-PPPPEEEEE!!!!!
level is only 23 but the test is two days earlier than i was due for. going to get some prosetergone to hopefully help with this spotting (although it's very light and brownish)..
so we aren't jumping from the rooftops yet nor telling anyone (fb friends please note this!) as I could lose the baby with this bleeding but OOOOMMMMMGGGG.
i had already mentally moved onto the next FET and totallly totally ruled this one out.
in complete shock. all baby dust and prayers to be send to MR and Mrs Grub and baby grub - mark II.

Does your clinic not give you progesterone support at all - even for a natural FET - I have always had progesterone until 10 weeks to make sure everything is fine by the time the placenta kicks in.
kelly - not for us re progesterone, but now i'm armed with pessaries so fingers crossed.

Back on Sunday for my 'official' bt ... so if the level is up, then it's official. then another BT on tuesday/wednesday and go from there.
on the good front the spotting has stopped for now.
part of me wish i'd just kept my gob shut and had my BT on wednes as scheduled. now i'm stressing!!! at least before i thought it was all over!!! i know you all know what i mean.

Grub if you recall at the beginning of preg with Xavier my numbers were low and all over the place. We had bloods every 2 days until 7 week scan. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Hello to everyone else, I have missed you all but I am so busy with Adam and study it's not funny. I have an exam in a week and then a break from the study for 4 months, by which time I would have gone back to work part-time lol which is starting to freak me out a little bit.
Adam will be 1 on the 20th and frankly I am a bit shocked! He's a little champion who has turned into a little bald terrorist...into everything all the time. I am knackered. When he goes down for his nap, I kind of just collapse on the couch and start laughing maniacally. Cute as anything though. Will be walking any day, stands for minutes at a time but just hasn't taken that first step yet.

hcg went from 23 on friday to 66 today :) And today or tomorrow (not sure) was when i was actually meant to do my first test so very happy. Back again wednesday for another.
I'm trying to convince myself i'm happy... this happened first go. bahm! like that. to plan.... doesn't that mean that something is about to go wrong???? i know you all know what I mean... it just feels a little too easy and as such is freaking me out!!!!:o

Yay Grub, that is such exciting news. I know exactly what you mean by the "Happy" but "Freaking out" all at the same time. I think after it takes so long to get our firsts that when our second miracles (or 3rd for me) decide they don't want to hang around it is kind of freaky. Such a fantastic present for your DH's birthday as well.
Neptune: So good to see that you caught up on my news. I'm keeping it quiet on FB until we are over the main hurdle but I've been itching to tell you. And what a cheeky little monkey you have on your hands. How did your DH's 'operation clean up' go?? With Adam now seriously on the move I'm sure you are freaking out about everything he can get into.

I'm very tired at the moment and have had some serious growing pains recently and I already have a little preggy belly. I was reading that with twins you can measure around 4 - 6 weeks bigger than with 1 baby, so based on how big I was with Tara I'm going to be massive this time around. I actually think I'm going to have to change my wardrobe earlier and get back all my maternity stuff as already it's getting to be a tight squeeze into my normal clothes. Oh how I hope it's not going to be a hot, hot, hot summer.....

Yes smithy my baby making days are over as well. We apent thousands getting dear litlle Xavier and now were are spending thousands tryiong to get my body to work again after having him. My pelvis is still stuffed. Spent another $800 today on needle number 3 which so far has made little difference last week I was back to not beoing able to walk. It is hard to function when you are constantly in pain and frustrating when I cant do the things I want to do, I cant play with the kids because I cant get on the floor or bend over. This is silly sorry for the whine. I should put this energy into getting better.

i don't think that's whining saph! venting, maybe and feel free!!!! i hope you find some relief. i can't imagine how difficult it is not to be able to get down with the boys (although i'm soon to find out - at least for a short time when my belly blows out).
it must be a nice feeling to know 'that's it, done' iykwim. I'll be glad when my baby making days are over as I don't love being preg or the newborn phase. i can't wait for a few year's down the track when the kids are old enough to wipe their own bums, feed themselves and take camping, fishing, riding, to museums etc etc.
marcellus - you are always so lovely and respond to nearly every post. but i realised I haven't really asked you how you are going? emotionally and physically i mean? ox
omg kelly - showing already! i feel the same tho lol and i'm only 1 month gone! hahaha. it feels like this kid is already pushing me about and making adjustments the way he/she wants it!
as you can probably guess by above. my BT results today were excellent. Went from 66 on Sunday to 262 today! so very happy with that result and no more pessaries either :)
thanks for all your good wishes :) Have one more BT to monitor the levels on Monday and then a viability scan week of nov 7.

Nah, I'm just avoiding the housework. I'm tired but otherwise doing very well, thank you :) I'm swimming and doing yoga, which I think has helped physically, and I'm very happy with my midwives, which helps me emotionally. So, on the whole, doing better than last time.
Great test results - you passed with flying colours!
Smithy: Congrats on making such a big decision. We still have 3 embryo's left and I've decided that once these 2 are born that my clinic will also be able to discard our remaining embryo's. If we were only having 1 more then we would have been tossing up about maybe having another but now there is no way I'm doing this again.
Saph: I hope you can get some relief soon, it must be so hard to be unable to move and still have the boys to look after. Take care of yourself.
Marcellus: So good to hear you are doing so well. Wow, not that long to go now...
Grub: Yay on your numbers, and I agree I can't wait until all mine are grown a bit and can play together and are easier to drag everywhere. A word of warning though.... I have just found out the hard way that having a mobile baby and morning sickness don't work well together, I feel so horrid everyday.
Well, things are moving along here. Tara has turned into a moving machine and she is all over the place now, I'm feeling very tired all day and getting pretty much all day nausea as well - roll on 2nd trimester. I think these babies are growing nicely though as I am always feeling stretching pains and at night I have even started to feel little 'butterflies'. I think they must be doing tandem rolls for me to feel them so soon.
Tara has grown so much recently as well, she is now developing so fast that I'm even considering giving up Mothers Group now and looking for alternative options for her. At MG she is one of the oldest babies and is now just bored with all the other younger babies as they don't do anything, she really now needs to mix with babies her own age and older to help keep her stimulated. I mainly go to MG for her benefit so I think I might start looking at playgroup options now... Has anyone else experienced this at all????

on the mother's group - i think it's more for the mothers' benefit really. Do you get along with the other mums ok? My honest opinion is that babies & young toddlers don't really interact with other kids anyway so it doesn't much matter about age differences etc for now. They like watching other kids, but don't do anything with them till 2+ usually. But if you think she needs something different, then sure. If she's moving now she'll probably love getting outisde and playing in the dirt and eating leaves and stuff :D Maybe think about different things to do or places to go with your mothers' group?

MG is ok but I'm one of the older mum's and sometimes just don't fit into the "younger" lifestyle anymore. I also had a very bad response from one of the other mothers when she found out about the twins... she is pregnant as well and due about 4 weeks ahead of me and when I told them all about the twins she commented that a freind of hers also had 2 babies put back but the stronger one "ate" the smaller one (ie: very bad wording of a vanishing twin), she then proceeded to tell me that that will probably happen to me when one of the babies died. I was gobsmacked at the time and still cannot believe someone would say something like that, especially as she is pregnant as well. So all up this has put a very big downer on MG for me as I really don't feel the need to share this pregnancy after that.
I might just play it by ear for a while......
I am the same Kelly...the oldest Mum by at least 10 years, and the token "hippy weirdo" who uses cloth nappies and doesn do controlled crying etc etc. I feel so out of place most weeks. We are also going to look at a playgroup next year, there is a montessori ones just around the corner that might be a goer.
And as for the insensitive mum what a tool to say something like that.
We went to the FS today to discuss number two and said how long can we wait being 41 and all, we would like a bit more time to enjoy Connor first. he goes "No Rush you can leave it for another 3 or 4 months if you like?" I am like WT? I'd hate to think what his version of need to rush is.......yeesh!
O.M.G!!! How could someone say that... at all... let alone to a pregnant woman!

apparently.....LOL. He sent for one of those new AMH blood tests and is going to do a follicle scan to see how bad my egg reserve is...ho hum......two kids close together.....yikes!!!
oh kelly that's awful. but don't stop one ignorant person from you enjoying yourself. you never know, she probably peed off the other mum's as well if she's that tactless and cold. but big hugs to you and i completely understand where you are coming from.
lol melbel... the good ole 'close together trick'... be careful. it worked (thus far) for us!!! and now i'm freaking out.
question to the more epxerieenced mummas among us... my DH has gone away for 2 weeks. it's his first time away since bub was very very young (about 3 months old i think he was last time). Ash is 10 months and daddy usually is a huge part of his bedtime routine.
ever since DH left bub will only have maybe one short sleep during the day (he was having 2 - a shorter morning one and a longer arvo on just last week!) and at first he'd want to be in bed by 6pm and i would't hear him til 5am :)
but last night (and the night before although not as bad) he went to be at 6.30ish, woke thanks to screaming kids in the street (little sods) and took until 8pm to resettle. i dreamfed him at 9.30pm and wnet to bed... he then woke at 11.30, 12.30, 1.30, 2.30 gave abottle, 5am, 6a, and 7.15am!!!!
needless to say i check he wasn't wet/cold/hungry etc and if i went in and laid him back down he'd go to sleep but he just seemed to want me to help him back to sleep.
anyway i was already tired and needless to say i feel like i've been hit by a truck! argh. and this is only DH's first week away!
do you think that it's cos dh is away? (bub says dadada a lot during the day atm); do you think maybe i'm not stimulating him enough during hte day? (it's just us at home and the same toys etc) or is he going through a growth thingy and wants to drop his day sleeps (but both!)???

Grub, it could be the change in routine. It could also be a coincidence - not uncommon for babies to sleep awfully around that age. Could be teeth or an illness on its way.... By the time you figure it out it'll be over (hopefully). It may be that he needs some extra comfort/reassurance during the night at the moment (for one of the above or some other reason). Do you bring him to bed with you at all? That's what I always do if DS is like this.
You're his mummy - just talking to him is stimulation enough, so don't worry about that.
Hey Melbel, um thanks FS for that. I noticed you are in Victoria so while you are considering what to do I would recommend that you get all your paperwork in order ie: Police Checks, Dept of Human Services checks. This is now a standard requirement in Vic and without having all the checks in place your FS can't proceed with a transfer for you. When we were considering trying for #2 I spoke to my clinic who got the ball rolling for us, that was in May this year and we didn't do our first FET this time around until August.... So might be an idea to make sure all is done so when you decide to take the plunge you don't have to worry about all the other stuff.
yeah thanks Kelly...we got te paperwork yesterday while we were there...as well as an updated price list......yikes!! so much more expensive now!! Just waiting till tomorrow so I can ring and see what the AMH test shows...curious to see how bad my egg reserve considering I have a two maternal great-grandparents who had their last babies t 48 and 52 respectively...and both hubby and I were born when our mums were 40 so you never know......
Huge congrats Grubby. Ash souns like he si going through the exact same thing as Adam at the same age....in hindsight I think it was teething, and it went on pretty much for quite a fe weeks, but is now really much better. We are back to full night sleeps, so hang on tight, I hope it gets better for you soon! I did find taking him to bed with me helped enormously as he would settle far quicker. Now that he's over whatever it was, he certainly hasn't formed a habit of sleeping with me (which I was afraid of!).

Kelly, that girl sounds like an imbecile. don't let her get you down and good luck finding alternative arrangements. I have just started Adam at playgroup and it is fantastic!!!! He loves it, we all have a cuppa and they are all similar ages which is great.
Hello to all you lovely girls and bubbies.
We have a huge shipping container organised for placement up at DH's parents property, so we are starting operation clean up after 10 years of emotional turmoil. It is still going to be many months before we see huge improvement, but i am one happy lady at the moment. so my little sojourn to Melbourne did help me thinks.:D
:happyforyou::hooray: for the shipping container neptune and bigger yay it's not at your place lol. That is such a fantastic outcome.... that way he still 'has' his stuff but it's contained (der grub, shipping container). I bet you are such a happy happy lady :)
a few WEEKS!! not sure if i can handle that. and worse, he's got all 8 of his 'first' teeth through already.. omg more can't be on the way???
I took him to the doc yesterday, he has red throat and suspect a virus (isn't always a 'virus' when they don't know!). so at least him not feeling well gives me some answer and direction... I also remembered he was due for a "wonder week'' plus daddy being away! but the good news is yesterday he had a decent day sleep and one nap,,,, and after an hour or so of scream, settle, scream, settle etc I rocked him off to sleep and he STAYED asleep!!! got to do the normal dreamfeed and went to bed ... he woke ONCE at 1am, had a full bottle and back to sleep til 7.15am :) :lol:
So we finally both got some sleep. I hope it was areal change and not just exhaustion leading him.

marcellus - i ended up brining him into our bed on friday night as it was the only way either one of us would get any sleep. I don't really like doing it cos i don't sleep well but he seemed much happier and kept rolling over to touch and snuggle into me (aawwww). Mind you I think i went to sleep before him, i was so tired lol. I can't imagine what it'll be like when i'm realy preg

anyhoo - am freaking out as I really don't 'feel' preg and have been so tied up with DS that it's hard to even think about *gasps* another one. have a bt tomorrow and hopefully the numbers are up around 1000 or so. It still doesn't seem real, but i'm 5 weeks today....
but from memory, all the 'symptoms' didn't really hit til 6 weeks with Ash... Can you remember when and how long your early symptoms started/lasted?

I'm the same with DS - only sleep with him if I have to. When he was younger though that was an awful lot. It still beats actually getting up and trying to resettle.
Word of advice ladies, when the kidlets get old enough for a trampoline. Pay someone else to put it together. 4 hours of my life gone and a week recovering from the sun burn. On the up side al least iot will keep C occupied for hours. I hope.
Hope everyone is doing well, had a little time out to my self this weekend so I am fit an raring for the week. Oh and poor C has had anouther urninary tract infection so he has to have a kidney unltrasound tommorrow. hopefully he is all okay.
Can I swear??? I think that is the only fitting way to express my shock, excitement and absolute joy for Kelly and Grub. I guess OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! will have to suffice. What amazing good fortune for both of you. I'm so happy and will watch with interest and hope that your tales keep reminding me of why I have mostly made up my mind not to go through it all again.
Grub, when you were telling us your suspicions of being preggas, how funny were you girl, I nearly peed myself laughing at your hastily written "prosetergone" and the fact that you said you "aren't jumping from the rooftops" yet. You will forever remain the biggest dag I know!! I can just see you now, yay we're pregnant, time to jump off the roof. Well I'm sure you'll be screaming as you go anyway. By the way, I'm not red-penning your writing, I just got the urgency in your typing and it cracks me up:p
I've missed a lot for one reason and another, not the least of which was due to a trip to Townsville to see my family before Jazzy's surgery. Man, I can be so incredibly dumb! I bought this super duper cheap jetstar flight to Cairns, because in theory it would be easy to catch the bus to T'ville and since my flight got in at midnight, we could travel through the night and be in T'ville by morning. That's if everything had gone right, the airport hadn't stuffed me around, I had caught my connecting bus and I hadn't been stranded at 1am in Cairns with no buses and no taxis and the airport closing down and nowhere to stay. My poor old DH got the phonecall from me at 1.30 and booked me into the flashesst motel in town for a whole 4 hours sleep before setting out on the bus again. The bus trip was oh so freaking mind numbingly boring and Jazzy was not playing nice for about 4 out of 6 hours. If someone had handed me a rusty butter knife, I'd have set to work on my wrists. A 3 hour drive by car is like 6 by bus with a toddler on your lap. I just kept thinking "kill me now". We do lots of travelling but that was by far the worst and cost soooooo much more than it would had I simply just flown direct and not tried to go it on the cheap. Needless to say, I flew back to Cairns, overnighted in a motel again and then flew out and all flights were complete bliss, heaven, wonderful experiences compared to the bus. NEVER again! Can you believe how many people see a mother with a baby strapped to her, travelling on her own with luggage and I mean struggling at these mongrel airports who charge money for trolleys (when you don't have it, what do you do?) Of course it's easy to dwell onthe negative, but there are also good people who go above and beyond to help.
I'm allowed to have a rant because hey it's my birfdy today and I've got time on my hands (ha, that's funny, cos I got a watch:clap:), I mean, the wee one is sleeping still.
Grub, I'd be looking to the toofy pegs for the answer to your clingy question. Jazzy did the red cheeks thing and then woke at all those hours you described lastnight. I'm used to those nights and even though I'm trying to wean her back into her cot beside our bed more, on nights like that, it is so much easier not to fight it and just let them snuggle when they need it. As Neptune says, they don't get dependent, they just need a bit of reassurance while they go through something new, painful and unsettling. It could be a coincidence that Ash's teeth play up with DH going away or just change in his routine. I always suspect that changes in routine plays a big part, (almost a stress reaction) but that's just my thoughts.
In Townsville, in the lovely, stifling heat Jazz slept so well with no wake ups whatsoever, so I started to think that she must wake with the cold at home. She never misses a wake- up at midnight for a feed on a week where she's sleeping well and not teething. She developed her own quirk though which is she must lie across the top of the bed (ours) with her arm dangling between matress and bedhead and if she has to crawl up over your face and across your pillow to get there, then that's what she does. It's the funniest thing. Other times she does this exhausted flop thing where she flops around everywhere until she drops asleep again, (usually on my head).
Well she's up and racing, so I'd better go and supervise.
Just a huge shout out to Miss Neptune...I think you are amazing!!! Congrats on all that you've been through that has led to you feeling more confident that things will improve and you've done a fantastic job to cope with so much and still study, do exams and think of going back to work. Massive respect lovely. Good luck and take some time for yourself in your break.

LOL it must be Cairns. Ash and I had that horrofic flight from cairns to brisbane because we also bought the cheap seats... ie the 6am flight out of cairns... it was a terrible terrible thing!
and as for the bus! lol. I caught that bus a few times when i was in uni in tvle and coming home.... even as an 18 yr old it was painfully slow so i can just imagine how awful it was!!! yeah next fly direct lol.

Well had our final BT yesterday and very pleased to report my numbers have jumped to over 1600. so all is great! We have our viability scan on Mon Nov 8 :) so am excited about that...
oh and now i'm coming down sick with what ash has (a sore throat). So am hanging for Saturday when DH finally comes home and i can spend the arvo sleeping off my fortnight.
Well better go and settle ash down. we went to a craft day this mroning and there was a creche... i left him there with some mums he'd never met while i was in the next room... happy-as-larry! when i picked him up for a kiss, he squirmed and basiclaly told me to "eff off mumma"!!! and went back to playing with the trucks and other kids :( boo hooo ... BUT i did get an hour's peace to do craft without him clingy/whingy etc :)
