Glad you liked the photos and thanks for all your support. I will be definitely posting the video of the switch-on. Yeah she was a brave little bugger. I went with her to give the anaesthetic in theatre and I havent told DH but she really fought the mask and didn't go without a fight. It would have killed him to see her that way. As it was, I just fell apart when I got back to him but at least I felt like I saved him from seeing her. Enough of me banging on about the yuck stuff now, it's all up from here and she got her wounds checked yesterday, dressings removed and finally a lovely big bath.
It was so funny, I'd got used to that yuck smell she's had since last Monday but at the library yesterday there was this cute little boy who asked if he could give my baby a kiss. He was 3 and a half and completely adorable. At first his mum agreed to a kiss on the hand if Jasmine wanted it, but later he sneaked in a kiss on the head and he backed away saying 'poo, yuck, her head is stinky'. Out of the mouths of babes hey?
Does anyone here follow the Save our Sleep settling methods? I have had the book recommended and have read heaps of reviews and discussions. I'm off to read the book cover to cover as I have just had an unsettled night from hell with Jazzy because I tried to put her into her cot after her midnight feed and she didn't trust me all night. Ibrought her back into bed but she was so untrusting, she jsut kept climbing onto mine or DH's pillow and curling up. It's time to get into some sort of dreaded routine so I'm thinking of following this book for a little while.
Meanwhile in totally unrelated news my DH's research from the Daintree has just been published in the most important journal in the world for his line of work. It got knocked back and rewritten so many times that he had given it one more go before taking it to a lesser journal, but they accepted it today. It's impressive stuff and the bread and butter for a wildlife biologist. Yay, it must have been due to his trusty sidekick, all those leech bites and falling on my face in the mud...and I didn't complain a bit...MUCH!!! "I'm getting paid how much for this....sweet FA...oh well it's all worth it then"
Well the book says, 10.15 lie her down for a nap so off I go (oh dear, she's not going to like it, she's so happy cruising around blowing raspberries at everything).
